McCain Reads From WFB Article While Slamming Reid on Nuclear Option
Washington Free Beacon ^ | November 21, 2013 | Staff

Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) ripped Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) on the floor Thursday for his hypocritical role in bringing about the “nuclear option,” quoting directly from a Washington Free Beacon article during his impassioned speech.

Reid said in a 2008 interview that, so long as he was the party leader, there would not be a nuclear option effectively stripping the Republicans of their ability to block President Obama’s judicial and executive branch nominees. However, on a near party-line vote Thursday, the Senate voted to approve the measure, 52-48.

Reid previously called such attempts at a nuclear option by Republicans when they controlled the chamber “a black chapter in the history of the Senate.”

McCain, besides the American people in general, you are the biggest loser on this. You and Lindsey management to make Neville Chamberlain look good.

While I respect John McCain for his service to this country,

McCain lost any right to respect for the way he trashed the MIA wives. Did we forget his rush to reach across the aisle to the Viet Cong?

Sorry McCain we’re too preoccupied the the knife you stabbed in our back to help you.

McCain is a loser who deserves no sympathy or support from any conservative. He has demostrated too many times he is perhaps a greater threat to us and our name than even Reid is.

What Reid did was disastrous and will only serve to divide the country even more strongly against itself by accelerating the polarization of the Federal court’s.

As they become more obviously political the people and their states will begin to see them more as weapons against one anther.
Thou the courts as well as the rest of the Federal Government which is now more arbitrary than it has ever been as illustrated by Obama’s new found power to simply ignore and otherwise rewrite laws.

The foundation of the union in law has been now been completely shattered, its only a matter of time and political warfare before the bonds of tyranny(rather than law) become intolerable.

If we are lucky and prepared the long term result will likely be separation and/or Civil war, if we are not it will simply be a dictatorship.

The people of AZ should demand that McC switch parties to follow “truth in advertising” laws.

What was McPain’s “service” to his country? I haven’t a clue; was it “manufactured” in Stockholm?

America may wake up, but AZ never will (and CA too).

I understand even Nancy Reagan didn’t have much use for McPain.

Your feigned outrage only applies to the nuclear option, right JM?

You can still work w/ Dingy on “immigration reform” since his ill will is strictly relegated to filibusters.

Did Dingy provide you time to speak on the floor Thursday just like he wanted you to give the Democrat rebuttal as Ted Cruz was leading the epic 21 hour filibuster?

As much as I despise John McCain WHAT he said is extremely important and the issue is much more important than John McCain. It’s a sad day. I’m happy he made that speech which exposes Reid and Obama. I just have to give credit where credit is due even though I still support the guy losing the next election even if it’s a democrat that beats him.

There is an old Russian saying: He who trades his horse for a promise winds up with sore feet.

McCain and Graham ought to get these for Christmas:

McCain is a bucket of scum who has spent his entire Senate career enabling this.

The McCain that served his Country by serving in the Military no longer exists. He gave away that “capital” years ago.

It’s no longer necessary to use the “respect him for his service” line IMHO. McCain has done more damage to the Republic than a dozen Audie Murphy’s could reverse.

McCain is a hobbit.

McCain is increasingly irrelevant. If he had any balls at all he'd resign and let someone who can lead take his place.
