Hewitt imposed a lighting round format on Krauthammer during the interview and asked for one word descriptions of the current likely field of presidential candidates heading into 2016.
Krauthammer called New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie a “frontrunner,” Ohio Gov. John Kasich “interesting” and “possible,” and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker “young, ambitious,” and “brash.” The conservative columnist added, “I like him.”
Of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Krauthammer said he was “very strong” and “could be a contender.”
“A lot of energy” and “a great orator,” Krauthammer said of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). He was cautious about Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) political prospects who he said had been tarred by his pro-immigration reform advocacy.
Asked about Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), “I love the guy,” Krauthammer declared.
“He’s got courage,” he continued. “I think he might decide he can serve conservatism in the country best as House budget chairman, but if he runs he’d be a very strong choice.”

There is no good reason why Ted Cruz shouldn’t be the next POTUS. The guy is honest and articulate. And he expresses sentiments with which most Americans agree. Finally, he is impervious to and fearless with the MSM. No one will care about the “shutdown” in 3 years. They will remember how he unapologetically stood for what’s right.
Cruz is the next Reagan.
I hate to tell you this, but you should avoid this place like the plague if you are going to get upset over conservatives eating their own.
There were a few posters who plastered this place with nothing but hate for every candidate but “insert yours here” last cycle. It was brutal and quite ridiculous. Reagan would not be good enough today.
While everyone is correct that such fighting allows the establishment to push their RINO to the finish line, everyone must also understand that no man or woman is going to fix this mess and we must get the best we can get, push hard from the local level through congress, and pray. We won’t fix everything in the term of any President. We also won’t control congress for longer than 2 years if we elected a guy who tried to fix everything at once. Too many people invested in the current disaster and not enough voters who understand how conservatism is good for them. It’s going to take time.
That is genius. Remember that one for later.
At this point I’ll take anybody on Krauthammer’s list except Chris Christie. He’s way too cozy to the Democrats and that makes me very wary and suspicious of him. All of the other candidates have flaws including voting for amnesty, having little name recognition, and lack of money but they’re all preferable to Hillary, Uncle Joe, that ultra lib Governor O’Malley from Maryland, and Senator Pocohontas from Massachusetts. I’m not expecting a “perfect” conservative as the next GOP presidential nominee but I’m so tired of people on our side who expect perfection in the candidate. Folks, aren’t you tired of conservative infighting and ending up with a moderate like McCain and Romney as our nominee. Well then, we have less than three years to get our act together or else one of those four clowns I mentioned earlier will most likely be our next president. God help us if that happens. We can’t absorb another possible eight years of full throttle liberalism.
I take inspiration from the ads the Dems ran in 2008 of McCain saying he voted with G. W. Bush over 90% of the time. Turnabout is fair play.
The press would salivate over having a female president, unless and of course the opponent is Sarah Palin. That would take the wind out of their sales, at least on that issue.
If a RINO is elected president, there’s always hope that the congress will swing more conservative and keep him in line. I don’t see myself ever skipping the general election. But I do have my preference for who I’ll choose in the primary. None of these candidates are as bad as Romney was to me. I voted for Romney, but I didn’t donate to or campaign for him, because I couldn’t verbally make a positive case for him to anybody, other than he’s “not Obama.” At least with McCain and this roster of candidates, I can pick out enough good things to say about them that could convince other people.
Degrees do not confer intelligence at a practical level.

I’ll bet this.If Hillary loses in 2016 the dem presidential candidate in 2020 would be the junior senator from Ilionois Michelle Obama.

ryan is a progressive amnesty loving big government drone... just like rubio... kraut likes the crease in his pants though.
Sarah alone will raise the money if needed and many more like her will form an army.
I concur with all of your assessments, including Cruz as best choice, but I’m sticking with my prediction that Jeb will win the nomination.

You speak the truth, but for some reason many Freepers think that Krauthammer is some wise oracle.
Remember, this is the Stupid Party we’re talking about. Any Republican should have trounced Obama n 2012 on Obamacare alone, but the Stupid Party rigged the primary to put the one guy out there as candidate that completely took Obamacare off the table.
We are about to enter a new world—a post Obama world where anything can happen. The soul of America is up for grabs. I believe the old ways are done—killed by Obamacare and the Liberal inability to lead. We are about to dramatically change in the next 18 months.
