Yeah, but it worrisome when it is your PhD in microbiology cousin-in-law. When hard science doctorates have invested so heavily in liberal tin-foil, we're in trouble.

I would bet, if you probed a bit, you’d find that this person is heavily invested in the righteous feeling he gets from advocating that everyone get healthcare.
Notice it’s not about the actual results, or the workability, but in the feeling you get for being a “good person who cares”.
