Morning Joe Mute As Saudi Prince Criticizes Lack Of Democracy . . . In Egypt
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

You're a self-respecting journalist. A guest on your show who is a leading member of one of the world's few absolute monarchies criticizes the lack of democracy in another country. Wouldn't you challenge him on his hypocrisy?

Sorry, trick question: we're talking about Morning Joe. On today's show, Saudi Arabia's Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal mockingly referred to the Muslim Brotherhood's approach to democracy in Egypt under Morsi as "one man, one vote, one time," meaning that after the Brotherhood gained power, it didn't intend to permit future fair elections. Of course one free election would still be one more than the Saudi monarchy has ever permitted for the country's leader. But Morning Joe never made a peep.

Why didn’t Scarborough challenge al-Waleed on his hypocrisy? Ping to Today show list.

So, now Newsbusters is shilling for the Muslim Brotherhood?

I hate to say it, but “one man, one vote, one time” is exactly what the Muslim Brotherhood planned.

And for that matter, it seems to be what Obama planned.

Somebody needs to tell Prince Al-Waleed “I do not think that word means what you thinks it means” :-)

I’m not shilling for the Muslim Brotherhood. They are entirely fair game for criticism. I’m criticizing Scarborough’s failure to call out al-Waleed on his hypocrisy.

Scarborough? Hypocrisy? That's like criticizing Jeffrey Daumer for eating meat.

I’m not a Saudi fan, and I’m not a Pooty-Poot fan either. But recently, they have been right to call Obama out for constantly fighting on the wrong side.

Of course, you’re right about the hypocrisy. But maybe the proper response would have been that Islam does not favor political freedom, so sometimes a corrupt dictator is better than an elected terrorist who will never hold another election.

Please see first sentence of second paragraph:

“Sorry, trick question: we’re talking about Morning Joe.”

On the other hand, the monarchy is plainly known to be a monarchy. It’s not an attempt at a dictatorship using a false shell of democracy to demagogue others into supporting it under the auspices of a democracy.

You guys are both right.

The world is in chaos right now, which is the way the leftist Obama likes it, and which a drugged up dullard like Scarborough can’t even begin to comprehend, let alone confront.

Seems to me we can only hope that the damage is enough to drag Obama down without destroying our country entirely.

But I have my doubts.

The Saudi’s have been working with America since the 1950’s. (the beginning of the Cold War). They’re having a hard time believing how America is DESTROYING the mid-east , in favor of the “radicals”
