In a recent interview with BBC News, Oprah Winfrey said that President Obama is disrespected because he is an African-American.
"There’s a level of disrespect for the office that occurs. And that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African-American," Winfrey said. "There’s no question about that, and it’s the kind of thing nobody ever says but everybody’s thinking it."
Speaking with the BBC's Will Gompertz in the UK to promote "The Butler," Winfrey also spoke to the global issue of racism.
"It's gotten better. Are there still places where people are terrorized because of the color of their skin, because of the color of their black skin? Yes."

Respect has to be earned. This man who was elected President of the United States despite his animosity towards those who oppose Central Planning by Big Government by calling them ‘bitter clingers’, called upon his followers to ‘punish the enemy’ at the polls and just last election in my back yard told those present to ‘seek revenge’ by voting. The most important job of the President is to set the tone and be above politics as he should consider all citizens in his policies. Your ‘Racist’ card has been overdrawn, unfortunately.

Oprah is a self centered person even though she does have appeal to many like type of persons. There is a skin difference between Caucasians and Africans so get over it. Some dark skinned people would have all people be as such but God did not make the human race into one color fits all. I can remember my young years, including time spent in the Philippines in the Army, when my skin would turn so tanned that I was called ‘nigger’ when playing among my ball teammates or later in life had Filipinos jabbering to me when all I could do was smile back at them. There is much more to the differences between race, e.g. oriental and anglo-saxon, than skin color. I think about the biblical story of the Tower of Babel when people thought they could just mix all of God’s humans into a common pot. It did not work out.
