Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) did not support Sen. Ted Cruzs effort to omit Obamacare funding in a continuing resolution, at one point calling Cruzs defunding strategy intellectually dishonest and a circular firing squad.
But now Johnson is out with his own strategy to deal with the problems caused by the law. Although he favors repeal, hes going for a patch.
Johnson has introduced the If You Like Your Health Care, You Can Keep It Act, which would amend the Affordable Care Act to ensure that individuals can keep their health insurance coverage. His bill promises no changes to existing coverage.
But Johnson admits the legislation wont help peopleapparently millions of themwho already have received policy cancellation notices, most of them in the individual insurance market.

You are right on the money.
That’s my position as well, something this elected official needs to learn as well...
There are a lot of states out there that need to take a long, hard look at their caste of representatives and gauge them very harshly on their actions, or inactions, on this Affordable Care Act/Tax...
My deal is that I hope to someday be able to call Ted Cruz the Senior Senator from Texas, and well before the end of his first term...No matter how much Cornyn parades himself in front of the camera now, it is too little too late...
His re-election ads are saying he is the second most conservative member of the Senate...
My first response to this drivle was, “Who;s first???” MCConnell???
BWAHHHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAHAHAAAA!!!
Until Johnson was interviewed by Mark Levin, I had no idea who he was.
By the time it was over, “slippery,” summarized my impression of him.
McCain is now out there saying obamacare should be repealed. And he’s acting as if it’s his brilliant idea, which is infuriating in and of itself.
I’d love to see someone face him down and remind him about his anger tour of all the networks just a few weeks ago where he lambasted Ted Cruz and Mike Lee and basically the entire Tea Party.
At the very least, the first thing out of his rino mouth, on every interview, should be an apology to these Patriots. Then he should get lost and leave the rest to Ted, Mike, and Sarah (not necessarily in that order).
I wish they would introduce a bill by doing nothing “If you like the democrat controlled senate you can keep it”!
Politicians kept promising they will fix the broken DC. Some actually attempt to break up the monopoly. Ron Johnson, not.
Too bad, he was one of the ‘new’ senator swept into office during the 2010 tea party tsunami (against Russ Feingold, I believe). Running as a small business owner, he only voted to jack up his ACU ratings so he can claim his ‘conservative’ cred. We now know his true color.
/I know, because I was in Wisconsin for 6 years, and donated to him through Senate Conservative Fund (Jim DeMint). And I keep scores of those who I donated to.
This just proves once again that congress critters don't know how this law was supposed to work in the first place. All this "you can keep it" act will accomplish is to kill the public health insurance market more quickly. It will accelerate the death spiral if you will.
It was intended from the beginning that healthy, insured Americans would pay more for insurance to subsidize the 20-30 million getting free insurance. John Roberts was absolutely correct (in calling it a tax.) Obamacare is a HUGE tax on working America, they just called it "Affordable Care Act."
The reason "you cannot keep your plan if you like it" is because it is from YOU that the subsidy MONEY is coming from!!!! Are you really that stupid or do you just the WE are?
Common sense? no....it is their sworn DUTY to the constitution and the people that voted their asses into power to REPRESENT THEM!
Disgusting....every last one of them.
‘zackly.
The horse is out of the barn.
weasel alert for later......
Yep. This guy is from Wyoming? Must be a cleaning project.
He’s trying to help his-attached-at-the-hip alter ego, Miss Lindsey. Lindsey is in trouble.
RINORon.
Ya gotta go.
Senator Johnson defeated the former Senator Feingold to take the Wisconsin seat in 2010. We have liked him a lot until this recent debacle. Now, we are giving him a second look.
Plans are being discontinued and people dropped because Health Care Insurers find it economically unfeasible to continue those plans. How can this If You Like Your Health Care, You Can Keep It Act force the insurers to continue with plans that lose them money?
Thanks
I have to know what a particular bill has in it to comment on it but the GOP should be using Dems discomfort on this to eliminate as many of the mandates as they can.
Bachman proposed a great idea on Cavuto last night and its a shame that NONE (I mean NONE) of them in GOP thought of it before this crisis:
Let the exchanges just be for the uninsured not on medicaid and leave everyone else alone. Let insurance companies offer any policies they want outside of exchanges.
Now the GOP might of won that debate. Their previously plays complete defunding or complete repeal were designed to lose, and did.(Those two come from talk radio)
“Lindsey is in trouble.”
He sure is.
RINOrats are losing their grip on power. YES!!!
And they’ll just shrivel up and die if they can’t hobnob and huddle with dims at their exclusive DC dinner parties. Pity.
Don’t forget Article V. either.
On Mark Levin last night, David Long said he had 26 states committed already plus numerous inquiries. 34 is 2/3 !
LOL, you're an idiot.
