House Democrats delivered a fix-it-or-else ultimatum Wednesday to President Obama, giving his administration until Friday to find an affordable solution for the millions of Americans losing their health plans under ObamaCare -- or risk some Democrats backing a Republican solution.
The ultimatum from President Obama's own party is another sign of the unrest within the Democratic caucus about the cancellation notices. The end-of-the-week deadline is significant, because House Republicans are planning to call a vote Friday on a bill that would extend current policies for another year.
It's unclear whether Democrats would go so far as to support that bill if the administration does not offer a Plan B. But one senior Democratic source told Fox News that, at a closed meeting Wednesday, Democrats made clear to the administration that they need a proposed fix before Friday's vote.

Obama IS king. He’s tweeked this thing 16 times iirc since the law was signed (waiver for unions, waiver for fed employees, etc.) Tweeking things over three years hasn’t made it better. What tweeks can he do in three days that will help?
Perhaps the rats are abandoning ship. This way come re-election time they can say “I pleaded with the president to change things.....”
...or else we’ll send you a strongly worded letter.
Those plans are gone and they aren't coming back without wholesale repeal of Obamacare and persuading the insurance companies to reinstate without coercion.
The architects of this plan have been working on it for 40 years or more and are sitting out there congratulating themselves over what a marvelous success it was and what fabulous pawns Obama and Democrats in Congress were.
Update: Schmucktastic.
Theyre telling us all about actuarial tables and all about how the process would work and all of this is fine and great and it would be great in a classroom and you would get an A on your test, but this isnt about getting an A on your test, this is about ads, said Rep. Steve Cohen, a Memphis liberal
Its ugly, said one Democratic source in the meeting. Theres no way Obama and Pelosi will let their legacy go down in flames. I just wouldnt want to be from a swing district right now. Or anything that closely resembles one.
If they stand with the White House on Fridays vote, they face the worst of all possible worlds: Campaign ads pointing out that they not only backed Obamas broken promise but also opposed legislation to fix it. The White House has two days, they warned, to come up with an alternative way to ensure Americans arent thrown off their health plans. The president has vowed to find an administrative fixrather than a legislative onebut that has proved difficult so far.
Funny.....when Republicans were doing this we were called terrorists and hostage takers.
********** To wit: Now that were almost done bulldozing the neighborhood, lets give people another year to get their houses up to the new zoning codes.

More like “Let them keep their old houses that are already destroyed.”
My insurance company has already given me the notice that they have cancelled my plan and will roll me over into a Obamacare compliant (and more expensive) plan.
Once they get this solution, they will need a solution to fix the solution. Then they will need a solution to fix the solution that fixed the solution. It will be perpetual motion. Lord, I miss America.
Since this is Fox News, they're calling it a "Republican solution."
If it were MSNBCBSABCNN, they would call it the Landrieu-Feinstein Democrat solution.

“Wonder what sort of laughably desperate Hail Mary play Obamas gonna try and run?”
Isn’t it about time for Syria to explode again?
Increase the subsidies to “free” for the majority but prorate it down in out years.
There really aren’t any viable options. Every thing that can be done will only make a bad situation even worse.
I’m afraid that a Republican backed bail-out of this national disaster will only provide cover for these Dems come next November.
It hurts to say this, but only with further prolonged unraveling and suffering by this country will people (maybe) finally wake up.
The pain and chaos needs to continue and the embarrassment needs to sink to even further depths.
It is times like this that a Reagan figure can rise from the right and it will most likely be the Tea Party.
I’d be satisfied with a 30 year delay.
Democrats irresponsibly rammed Obamacare, not letting anybody read it, and now Obama seems to be getting a dose of that same “medicine,” pun intended.
The GOP should say, “Golly, jee, guys, this is YOUR mess! But we will go along with whatever you decide” :)
At THIS point, it is such a freaking mess that it CAN’T be fixed and the GOP should allow the Dems to get their filthy, incompetent fingerprints all over any defective efforts to repair it while standing well out of range of public ire.
THEN, when they get control of the House and Senate in the fall out in 2014, IMPEACH that bastard Barrack HUSSEIN Obama.
...and her hubby has already told his girls they could and should kill their baby if it is inconvenient.
Come on Michelle...step to the plate...promote killing babies...spreading aids...
Hey, do you know how to add a tagline to one's name, as so many people here do? I can't figure it out.
The LIBs/DIMs are such a-holes. They created the menu featuring the Clown-Prince-nobama-care-Sh**-Sandwich. They should choke on it. Choke, you Freedom-hating, anti-American jerks...CHOKE!
