Gee, I dunno. For some reason I’m reminded of the scene from “Saving Private Ryan” where the Germans have fallen from the pillbox, on fire.
After helplessly taking fire from these guys for over an hour, a GI yells “Let ‘em burn!”
That’s what I’m thinking. The B&O Special is just jumping track ... someone pop some corn!

Regardless of how many are duplicates, transfers or just simple inquiries, the point is that the whole system was predicated on MILLIONS of young people signing up in droves the pay for all the ones who have no insurance or are costly elderly patients. They got only the latter and none of the former. This ship is doomed.............

They’re following the Dot.Com template of launching with a flawed business model in the hope that they will make it up in volume.

Wouldn't single payer necessitate another biggest tax increase in world history? Not trying to be a wiseacre axing this - but . . seems that there would have to be a way to pay for this besides just printing more worthless greenbacks.
Obama has promised not to raise taxes except on millionaires and billionaires -(his base)

Obamacare = UNinsuring the insured. THAT is the “million” number Obama was really talking about. The amount of folks that will LOSE their insurance.

Medicaid pays doctors/hospitals 50% of what medicare pays. If they merge the two programs, that alone would be a big savings. Problem is that no one will see these patients as they can’t survive as a business. The gov’t then takes over the physicians and the hospitals.

Interesting table. Some more rural states have Medicaid that pays more than Medicare. Much variability among states and what is being billed.
Bottom line is that if physicians are shying away from Medicare, what happens when you offer them 2/3 of an already crappy rate?

Yes, those inverted ratios are odd. Was meaning to look into whether it is because Medicare is low or Medicaid is high.
