CLATSKANIE, Ore. - Parents and their teenage daughters, who say they were bullied into sending nude photos to boys at their school, have filed a federal lawsuit against the Clatskanie School District.
The girls say they were harassed and abused for three years and that their school didn't do enough to protect them.
"I thought, why would you ever send a picture of yourself out?" said one of the girls, Josi Harrison. "But what these boys do to you, you feel like you have no option."
They were only 12 and 13 years old at the time, seventh-graders at Clatskanie Middle/High School. The girls say when they tried to go to the principal, the school counselor and other teachers for help, they were told to "suck it up."
The students and their parents gave example after example. Boys were allowed into the locker room while girls were undressed and teachers watched as the girls got slapped in the face.
"That day for the second time, the same student made me bleed he threw a book at me and cut my lip open," said another girl, Laura Lefebvre. "I went to the principal, and I said this is enough. This isn't how I deserve to be treated. He said, 'Well, we can take you out of the class.' I said, 'That's not fair. That's them winning. I think there should be consequences for them.' He said, 'Well, boys will be boys.'"
The girls' mothers said the school principal refused to protect their daughters.

HAHAHAHA! You hit the nail on the head...that is the essence of teenage girls. They are VICIOUS!
Teenage boys are just....hormone driven. Otherwise they would avoid those girls like the plague.
I can’t believe the denial here. sexting has been going on for sometime. Sorry dome of you fossils cannot except modern reality but the fact is this is very likely. Face it Father Knows Best has been off the air for a long time.
“But what these boys do to you, you feel like you have no option.”
Really? They hold a gun to your head??
That depends. Yes this could be bullying from either side and the real story needs to be found.
What were boys doing in the girls locker room for ANY reason... ANY REASON AT ALL that doesn’t earn immediate suspension? There had better be one hell of a good reason. Something done by the girls that baited and goaded these boys into doing something that STUPID.
And if the allegations of having books and solid objects thrown and lips split open is correct, then yes you have animal thug boys being allowed to physically assault girls on school property during school hours. That would be a special kind of heinous dereliction of duty on the school’s part.
Better that the school doesn’t exist and we give up on public education than to somehow end up training boys (or girls) how to use physical abuse and violence to get sexual favors.
I don’t care who did what. The end result and the lack of discipline leading to these allegations even being BELIEVABLE by the kids, parents or staff already damns the school for it’s uselessness. No situation like this should ever have gotten this far. The boys or girls responsible should have been literally taken to the woodshed by a caring adult way back when this all started and taught a necessary life lesson in doing unto others and how we behave in a civilized world and what could be expected if they ever did it again.
Man what planet do we live on? A federal lawsuit?
The kind of care needed, whether gentle or severe, will simply not be here until God is believed on again. The God who furnishes copious love but gives us the choice to accept or reject it. But does not give us a choice of the consequences.
Why young, stupid kids should never be given cell phones that let them take pictures.
My youngest is 17 and just got his first phone for his birthday last month. Why?? Because his mama teaches about digital crime and mama and papa decided it would be best to wait.
And, it didn’t kill him!!
