CLATSKANIE, Ore. - Parents and their teenage daughters, who say they were bullied into sending nude photos to boys at their school, have filed a federal lawsuit against the Clatskanie School District.
The girls say they were harassed and abused for three years and that their school didn't do enough to protect them.
"I thought, why would you ever send a picture of yourself out?" said one of the girls, Josi Harrison. "But what these boys do to you, you feel like you have no option."
They were only 12 and 13 years old at the time, seventh-graders at Clatskanie Middle/High School. The girls say when they tried to go to the principal, the school counselor and other teachers for help, they were told to "suck it up."
The students and their parents gave example after example. Boys were allowed into the locker room while girls were undressed and teachers watched as the girls got slapped in the face.
"That day for the second time, the same student made me bleed he threw a book at me and cut my lip open," said another girl, Laura Lefebvre. "I went to the principal, and I said this is enough. This isn't how I deserve to be treated. He said, 'Well, we can take you out of the class.' I said, 'That's not fair. That's them winning. I think there should be consequences for them.' He said, 'Well, boys will be boys.'"
The girls' mothers said the school principal refused to protect their daughters.

It sounds like a story only a parent could believe.
This is the craziest story I have read in awhile. If true, I am shocked. If it isn’t, then some people are just crazy.
I’m not sure how serious I would take all of these allegations.
I can believe that boys were harrassing girls.
But, it strains believeability to me that the boys somehow got the girls to take nude pictures of themselves, and send those pictures to the boys. How in the heck can this happen?
When I first read about this I wondered if the parents had found out about the nude photos and the girls invented the story of bullying, with embellishments, to explain it all away. The parents, in denial, bought into it, and we are off for the races (or the courts, if you prefer).
An effect of the political anti bullying movement is that their allegations will be taken as the Gospel truth completely regardless of the facts.

I sort of find that hard to believe....but schools are WAY different today compared to when I went....you know, when dinosaurs roamed the earth....
I taught young teenage girls in my younger days.
They can be the most manipulative, lying, sneaky, vindictive beings on the planet. I was that age myself but I don't remember being that nasty.
There is NO way that the boys could have gotten the girls to do that. At that age, the girls are telling the boys what to do.
It’s probably a school requirement for girls to do that now-adays
What you say is true, sad, but true.
No doubt.
I've always thought that the psychological warfare units in our military should be staffed by teenage girls.
I have no doubt the “pyschological bullying” was NOT a boy, but an adolescent clamlicker. Mark my words...the truth will come out... girls are notoriuos bullies.
My wife who counsels young “ladies” attending prep school for prison one day explained to me how these ladies at the age of 12-14 initiated a game of putting “rainbows” on guys private parts (using lipstick) and then bragging about it. I guess they’ve advanced greatly since my day. I have a hard time believing the girls story, but they do seem to be creative and up to date on available scams.

Where are these girls’ fathers? This principal should be hiding for his safety.
Oh, sure, I believe this story. /s Good grief!
I can believe that boys were harrassing girls.

With today’s middle schoolers, it can very well be the other way around.
“I sort of find that hard to believe....but schools are WAY different today compared to when I went....you know, when dinosaurs roamed the earth...”
I know what you mean. This behavior, regardless of who started what, is simply not even imaginable to me.
