This is an idiot idea.
There is not a single person in American political life today that I’d trust with improving on what we have.
All this talk reminds me of how many on the right thought term limits would be great until the GOP won the majority in 1994.
Face it folks we simply don’t have anyone who could possibly do better than the Founders.
What we have now can be taken away by the Supreme Court, including homo Roberts.
The founder’s vision was corrupted. It is time to return to federalism, to divide power once again between DC and the states.
Please read the column.
The founders wrote a constitution for a people that were generally moral and just. They well knew the historical progression of republics into decay and tyranny. And they provided methods for the people to work around a tyrannical government. As I recall George Mason insisted on Article Five to provide us a peaceful way to right the ship of state. Is there recourse to correct our present problems in the existing constitution? Yes. BUT it will not be used. The marxists in congress have more than enough numbers to prevent any correction. For instance, there will never be impeachment of judges that violate their oath of office. Nor will congress eliminate the chairs of offending judges. The marxists in congress will protect them. And we will not replace them because they lie straight to our faces and they have rigged elections with gerrymandering and voter fraud. There is no other way except rebellion. And no one wants that.
If you seriously believe this, then you know that the 17th amendment undid what the Framers intended.
Can I assume that you would support an amendment that repeals the 17th amendment and restores the Framer's original intent, since you said that "we simply dont have anyone who could possibly do better than the Founders," and so the authors of the 17th amendment did worse by your assessment?
Even an "idiot" can introduce that amendment, and it wouldn't be "improving on what we have," it would be restoring what we had.
