A new poll being released later Thursday could send a warning to politicians nationwide: Oppose immigration reform at your peril.
The results from the survey, sponsored by a trio of GOP-friendly groups and provided to POLITICO in advance, indicate that voters will be warmer toward politicians who favor immigration reform, an effort that faces an uphill battle in the Republican-led House.
-snip-
Organizations that put together the poll includes Spiess group (Republicans for Immigration Reform), as well as the Partnership for a New American Economy, the pro-reform coalition headed up by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Compete America, a tech-industry coalition backing reform.

Hey, what the heck, I’m in favor of immigration reform myself. We start by building a wall...
We had a workable temporary farm worker program in Kalifornia 50+ years ago that worked well. It can be done when there is the political will to do so.
The poll was given to only people who didn’t know the definition of immigration or reform.
America now thanks to immigration has the highest poverty rates ever and California, due to its sanctuary cities has the highest in the nation.
That might be true, if you consider closing the border and expelling all illegal aliens to be immigration reform—which I do.
so lets see here; costs at the super market are going up, cost for energy are going up, jobs suck these days and everyone’s health insurance premiums have increased anywhere from 15%-50% the past three years....but people are going to the polls with immigration reform on their minds...
they will do so if the GOP-e blow it- which i’m sure they will...
Go back to china with your lies mister communist... we have legitimate polling that shows Americans want jobs for Americans and not for mexican invaders here illegally. Now FOAD chicom!
A “Poll” from a partisan activist group is supposed to be trusted?
Want to bet this is the soros owned rasmussen poll... it still shows obama at 50% approval... leftist polling for leftists.
Generically polling “immigration reform” will get you 90% support. The system is screwed-up and broken beyond belief.
That does not mean 90% support for throwing the door open to amnesty for illegals. If anything it means support for stricter enforcement and becoming more selective in exactly WHO we let into the country (and then not forcing them to spend seven years in Bureaucrat Hell once they’re here)
vaudine
If its not a poll of likely voters and likely GOP voters then forget about it. Dems are not going to vote republican for any reason. Independents and Republicans are all we should care about.
Bottom line is if you let 11 million (which really means 30 million counting the extended families that will come) illegals get citizenship and vote the GOP will never win another national election.

Their list of supporters is a who's who of tech companies. (http://www.fwd.us/our_supporters)

In May FWD.us began running ads the immigration bill pushed by the so-called Senate Gang of 8. Politico reports that Americans for a Conservative Direction will spend over $1 million to push the ad in states including Texas, Florida, Iowa, and Kentucky. (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/05/07/Republican-group-Facebook-immigration-bill)
Another group running ads is the American Action Network. The American Action Network was founded by Fred Malek, National Finance Committee co-chair of John McCains 2008 presidential campaign. AAN created the American Action Forum and the Hispanic Leadership Network. These groups share office space with the Karl Rove affiliated Crossroads GPS/American Crossroads.
These groups have overlapping leadership and membership.

I remember it well - it was that forming farm worker’s union that killed - by design.(can’t recall name of radical who caused so much trouble)
Darn straight. We get push poll phone calls all the time. I love the ones that give you Choices for answers. You can’t tell them what you think, you have to answer A, B, or C.
So, you are right, this poll probably asked “are you for any sort of immigration reform?” A: yes B: no C: Not sure.
Ask a poll pusher “can you explain that a bit more?” and you will usually get “I’m just asking the questions they give us, I can’t get into much detail, I would contact your congressman” or some such nonsense.
Great info!
I don’t think so. Who did they poll? The Log Cabin Republicans?
