House Republican leaders announced Wednesday the lower chamber will vote next week on a bill that would allow people to keep their health insurance plan if they like it.

The vote hits at President Obama, who, during the debate over the Affordable Care Act, said people could keep their healthcare plans if they like them. Several people, however, have gotten cancelation notices because of ObamaCare's new standards.

Late Wednesday afternoon, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) announced via Twitter that the bill would get a vote.

This is so bogus. The feds cannot force an insurance company to sell anything. Besides which even if they do this, if those old policies people like can't get new people to sign up, they'll wither away. And Obamacare gets in place because the dissent is quelled.

Face it. The RINOs and even some "conservatives" want Obamacare. They're still playing us. I'm disgusted.

I don't look at this as fixing Obamacare.

It's reversing the disastrous effects. It would return people to their private insurance. And everyone would know that the GOP was on their side.

Simply not true. You are talking only about those who qualify for grandfathering. Obamacare will still be the law of the land. All new insurance policies must meet the new standards. And then there are the employers who will start dropping people from their group plans.

We still have private insurance under Obamacare. But the private insurance market is heavily regulated. That is not going to be reversed.

And everyone would know that the GOP was on their side.

You overestimate the intelligence of the average voter. Obama will claim credit for whatever dispensation is given. Obamacare has his name on it. Obama will approve of whatever is decided. He is the King.

Of course Obamacare is still the law. This is just one provision which would be reversed. And, yes, for now it would be only for a year to alleviate the burden on those who have lost their insurance. But the GOP can then move forward and highlight the employer problem.

I don't see a downside to giving aid to those who are ailing, especially because it will be a negative for all of us if the economy suffers because of their struggle. And an additional benefit is that will help to emphasize what a disaster Obamacare is.

If the public sees that such a significant portion can be reversed, they will gain hope that more major reversals can happen take place.

We will just agree to disagree. The GOP will not be given any credit for whatever fixes are made to Obamacare, which will just be that much more imbedded into the entitlement system. Obamacare will not be repealed or rolled back. The Dems will put forward fixes and the Reps will be portrayed as the party of no if it tries to prevent them. Helping to relieve the short term pain just guarantees the long term disaster Obamacare will be. And the GOP will own part of the problem because they helped “fix” it.

These are not fixes to Obamacare. This is a bit of a reprieve FROM Obamacare mandates.

The Dems will put forward fixes

And their credibility on "fixing" is very much in the toilet right now. People are slowly realizing that Obama is inept. The GOP is now more trusted than Obama on the economy.

If the GOP offers constructive ideas piece by piece we can see Obamacare reversed.
