They said he was unelectable. The RNC put only $3 million into this race. Ken was outspent by a margin of something between 4:1 and 10:1, if you believe the Associated Press.
The Democrats poured everything into trying to lie to voters and portray Cuccinelli as an extremist and they barely pulled this one out.
Would another $3 million have swung 50,000 votes? The Republicans, starting with Bill Bolling, who undercut Cuccinelli as unelectable have egg all over their faces.
This was a winnable election. How did we give this away to Terry McAuliffe? Some serious soul-searching should be taking place among the anti-tea-party faction.

This past shutdown ended nearly identical to the one in 1996 when Newt and Dole sent Clinton the exact CR that he demanded, and both paid the furlouged workers for their time off too.
Boehner did EXACTLY what we knew he would do.
So far shutdowns haven't produced anything good.
I hate them quite a bit more than the dems now.
They have lied to me and stabbed me in my back directly.
They are enemy #1 as far as I am concerned.
And they are going to crash and burn hard real soon.
I see a great big broom coming for the stinking ass GOP.
Yep, my point.
GOP has betrayed my values and beliefs. The election in VA was winnable. They will no longer get money from me or my vote. No longer concerned with voting for the “lesser of two evils”...let the political chips fall.
That message needs to hit social media...this is where the left is kicking our ass, big time. Money only to Tea candidates, not the RNC or scumbags like Rove.
I was going to say the same thing. Stop helping the rinos in their efforts, because they sure as hell never help us.
Whether through ignorance, small mindedness, petty selfishness, haters of truth, etc... there is a vast cabal of less than stellar citizens who vote for their deceivers.
May they receive the rotten fruits of their votes for their love of hero wicked ones. They can look us up when or if they get a dose of reality check. Until then they can stew in their putrid juices they voted for— Enjoy....
Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, to say nothing of the other freedom-loving men and women who made America's 200-year miracle in liberty, must be weeping as they see their great State's decline into such a state of affairs.
This makes me wonder,
since the 1995-6 shutdowns have been so romantized over the decades on AM talk radio will someday this past one 2013 be re-told as a stunning defeat and cave by Obama?
:-)
There is no lesser of two evils.
They are both great evils.
The NJ RINO establishment is the same way for any real conservative candidate.
Of course this year Buono was the sacrificial Dem candidate for NJ governor, and the Dems didn’t waste much money on her.
But Cuccinelli was in striking distance. The Libertarian candidate may well have been a pure spoiler - a Texas Obama bundler gave his campaign a huge chunk of money.
What you just said .... big time!!
Well said! Any my tagline still holds...
That is questionable. The exit polls go either way on that one. And the main reason Cuccinelli came so close was because of the “Chernobyl” that is Obamacare. If not for that disaster, the slimeball would have had a greater margin of victory. In retrospect, the whole ultrasound thing was probably a bad idea. Hate to say it, but unless you’re deep in the Bible Belt, anything to do with abortion or “reproductive health” is probably a 3rd rail for the GOP, kind of like gun control often turns out to be for the ‘rats.
I am just poo-pooing this silly theme.
The RNC already lost my money. Now they have lost my vote as well.
I REFUSE to vote for ANY candidate that the RNC supports.
If we are to have democrat overlords..at least let it be ones who are honest about their treason.
