I dont think the problem is splash, it is drips that land on the floor and bowl from standing too far away. At work it is not unusual to have yellow drops on the floor under the urinal. In order not to step in them people stand farther away and that just makes the problem worse. Just stand closer to the bowl/urinal and the problem is solved.
For some of us it is not necessary to stand close.
