Sarah Palin 2016: Former Alaska Governor Laying Groundwork For Possible Presidential Run

Sarah Palin may be once again dreaming of the White House and a run for the presidency in 2016.

After a long absence from the political arena, Palin appears to be strategically increasing her appearances and speeches while also taking solid aim at President Obama. This has led many political experts to conclude that she is aiming to enter the 2016 presidential race, or at least is trying to test the waters for a potential run.

The rumors kicked up a bit this week when a spokesman for the Rev. Billy Graham announced that Sarah Palin will be a guest for the reverend’s 95th birthday. Graham still carries great political sway, so much in fact that Mitt Romney carved out time to meet with Graham in the final days of the 2012 presidential race in the hopes of earning a public endorsement and assuring conservative voters.

Graham’s birthday celebration is also drawing other big names in the conservative world, including real estate mogul Donald Trump.

Sarah Palin has also taken her political tour to Iowa, one of the most important states for Republican hopefuls. On November 9 Palin is slated to speak at the annual banquet for the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition, an important conservative and evangelical group.

After spending a long stretch away from the spotlight, Palin is also ramping up her political attacks on President Obama in what could be the groundwork for her 2016 platform.

In a Facebook post entitled “Obama’s Debt Default is on His Shoulders While We Shoulder His Impeachable Offenses,” she placed the blame for the debt limit fight solely on Obama’s shoulders.

“Defaulting on our national debt is an impeachable offense, and any attempt by President Obama to unilaterally raise the debt limit without Congress is also an impeachable offense,” Palin wrote.

If Sarah Palin is planning a 2016 presidential run, she will have even more ammunition to boost her resume in the coming weeks. On November 12, three days after her planned speech in Iowa, Palin will be released a book taking on the conservative-friendly topic of the War on Christmas.

Pain promises that in the book — titled Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas — she will “tell you how to fight back against those politically correct Scrooges who seem to hate not just a beautiful holiday, but an entire faith.”

Sarah Palin is still a long way from an official 2016 presidential run, however, and likely wouldn’t declare any intention to run for several months.

#1; Sarah Palin hasn't been absent from the political scene. She has been engaged ever since the 2008 election. She and Rush Limbaugh were the first and foremost in pointing out Obama's flaws. The reason for periods of high or low activity is simply because timing is everything and Palin has a keen sense of timing.

#2; Political experts conclude she is running? Many of those political experts are morons and don't have a clue. Sarah Palin is going to work to elect like-minded patriots to political office this election because she loves this country. Her plan may include a run for president and it may not. Political ambition is what the "political experts" base their conclusion on but political ambition is not what motivates Sarah Palin.

I hope either she or Cruz decide to sit it out, both of them running would put the GOPE's annointed straight in to the nomination.

Agreed. I think that's a sound strategy to defeat the RINOs in 2016.

She’s still my number-one choice. Indeed, if it’s not Palin or Cruz, I frankly have little if any interest in 2016. The current “Rove-Romney-Boehner” GOP obviously no longer stands for my values, beliefs or ideology, and I have zero intention of supporting it. That lifelong cord was broken these past four years, and most of it due to the backstabbing treatment directed at Palin and the tea party grassroots.

Not that I have any illusions about Palin’s chances. America has degraded into such a corrupt, degenerate, faggoty cesspool of a country, that I truly don’t think America is particularly worthy of the leadership that either Palin or Cruz would provide. But if either do shoot for it, I’ll put my entire body and soul into working for their victory, as one final, last-gasp political gesture.

It just isn’t going to happen! Just asked my wife about her chances. She said that a female conservative will never get elected in the foreseeable future. But HIllary can because she’s the bull dyke wife of an ex-president. So you have a woman’s perspective. Personally, I like Sarah, but in the scheme of things, she’s a lightweight!

She is the only governor out of 50 that negotiated both with foreign governments and the oil companies. Her National Guard is active because of Russia and North Korea. Lightweight? Chris Christie is the lightweight.

They’re both too smart to go up against each other. One or the other will run.

Sarah would make the best President possible.

But this country is too left-leaning now, even the independents. The media would run non-stop attacks on not only her, but also her family.

No, she is too good, too fine a person for D.C. politics. As always, her greatest influence is continuing to be just who she is, as she is.

And her influence is world-wide even today— as she stands for God and those things which are morally right.

I still have issues with her backing of McCain in his last reelection bid.

She has no real political stature, no current record of accomplishments.

That's a ridiculous statement. Sarah has a sterling record of accomplishment as a Governor, and in many other public service positions, both elected and appointed.

The fact that she's been out of elective office for four years has absolutely no bearing on her proven skills as an executive.

As far as gravitas is concerned, let's not forget that her endorsement helped the almost unknown Ted Cruz defeat a sitting Lt. Governor in his race for the U.S. Senate last year.

“Can she see the White House from her front porch? :)”

When you say something like this, you merely show that your are ignorant.

...her midterm resignation from governorship is inexcusable.

I don't know how many times this left-wing meme is going to have be debunked on FR before it finally dies. It keeps rising from the dead like some leftoid zombie.

Palin was being driven into personal bankruptcy by the dozens of frivolous lawsuits that were being filed against her. The laws in Alaska do not allow state monies to be used to defend the Governor from such suits, and there is no limit as to how many of them can be filed.

When concerned Americans reached out to help her with these costs, a judge declared her legal defense fund to be illegal, and it was closed. That left her and her husband with a nearly $500,000 legal bill, which continued to climb.

Not only that, she and her staff were spending the bulk of their working hours working on her defense, and not on governing the state of Alaska.

What would you have her do under such a suppressive circumstance? Destroy the basic financial stability of her family, and go completely broke in the process of defending these never-ending lawsuits?

When would the deep left have given up and let her be? When she was buried up to her neck in lawsuits, and without any means to pay for legal representation, that's when. They meant to destroy her personally, and as Governor of Alaska.

And all of this transpired AFTER she and McCain had lost the election!

Does the GOP still have those open primaries where democrats can pick our candidate for us?

“Jeez Louis, how many times are we going to go over this?”

As many times as needed!

I like Palin, but she did not owe McCain a damn thing. She knew what kind of person he was from the presidential campaign and who knows without her support he may have lost the primary election. If a person (Palin) truly has convictions, that person does not support one (McCain) who has none.

This, from someone who had to ask his wife whether Palin can win or not. I don't even know where to start with such an ignorant comment such as that.

I agree with you - she was threatened. Unfortunately I suspect part of the threats were from the GOPe.

I have the same sense. Palin and Cruz are cut from the same fine cloth, and are much too savvy to hand the nomination over to the RINOs on purpose.

I believe it's one of the primary reasons Sarah backed out the last time. When Ricky Ricardo Perry jumped into the race (after promising the voters of Texas that he wouldn't) it changed the dynamics of the race. I believe she (rightfully) concluded that with Bachmann and Perry in the race, it would have further split the conservative vote for her to jump in too.
