“Virginia Will Write the Next Big Chapter in the Obamacare Story” By Clark S. Judge
Hot Air ^ | November 1,2013 | Clark S. Judge

Democrat Terry McAuliffe – a close ally of the president and super-wealthy Democratic Party fundraiser – is poised to be that bellwether candidate. He has loudly and repeatedly promised to march his state into a full-monty embrace of Obamacare. Meanwhile Republican Ken Cuccinelli is the nation’s most prominent state official opposing the massive law. He led state attorney generals in their anti-Obamacare lawsuits.

There is also a Libertarian candidate in the race. But if he proves a spoiler, count on Democrats nationally to hold ranks. National Democrats will see the anti-Obamacare coalition as too fractured to be a viable threat and they will be right. Whether McAuliffe wins or loses will be the only metric that will matters in Virginia.

What are the odds of Cuccinelli defeating the deep pockets Democrat?

The polling is a flashback to last year’s presidential race, that is, it is all over the place. The Roanoke College poll shows McAuliffe up by 15 points; the Quinnipiac poll has him ahead by 4 points. But the talk among professionals is that Cuccinelli is closing in. If body language matters, of late McAuliffe seems to have lost his earlier swagger.

For example, McAuliffe has said he wants to stop the building of coal-fired electric plants in the state, which is bad in itself for Virginia’s coal miners. But it is also a sure way to increase electric bills throughout a state where local coal is the principle source of inexpensive power plant fuel.

Then, too, in education, McAuliffe is close to the unions. Cuccinelli promises to be a reformer. McAuliffe is a raise-taxes liberal. Cuccinelli is a pro-growth conservative.

Whatever the outcome, the nationally race will be read as an Obamacare victory or defeat, with all in this tumultuous moment could follow from that.

This is one race to watch! The Liberals and Obamites will do all in their power to trash the Tea Party man—They must win! To do so they will cheat every way they can—The MSM will help knowing that to lose will set the stage for disaster in 2014. Watch as they pull out all the stops and come on like gang busters to call people racists, homophobes, radical Christian extreamists—and worse.

Prayers! Not for God to be on our side. But that we are on His side and trying our best to get people elected who represent Godly values. Our side is not perfect but I pray for God to open eyes and hearts and for people to see the difference in right and wrong. One party is trying to promote morality while the other side boos God! Prayers work, keep praying for God to help America!

My Lib friends in VA are trying to make this all about womens’ issues and Cuch being a bible thumping Neanderthal. That’s them speaking, not me.

It may just work. Women tend to vote based on emotion and Dems know how to play emotions like a fiddle. The pocketbook effects of Obamacare haven’t kicked in yet. If McAwful wins I expect to see a lot of female buyers remorse by next Summer.

I guess some women like to be abused if you bring them roses and whine. Not me. They should know by now how stupid they appear.

The ads against Cuccinelli has almost single handedly been war on women attack ads.

The “womyn” who oppose Cuccinelli want unlimited access to a dead baby. That is the be-all and end-all to their existence.. everything else be damned .... they want a dead baby and no one is going to stand in their way.

I have to question where Mr. Cuccinelli went to law school and what he was taught about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers at that school. There are undoubtedly freepers who can argue why Obamacare is unconstitutional better than Cuccinelli evidently did.

At the grocery checkout yesterday, I got to talking to the cashier who is working part time. She retired from the IG’s office in DC after twenty-five years and moved to the Midwest from Virginia because of her daughter. She despises Obama and thinks the only thing that will save us is PRAYER and she meant it. She said she could not do another five years because the “complexion” and hatefulness from federal workers has changed dramatically since O took over. She said white federal workers are the minority in many departments and are treated horribly, she and other whites have fear for their safety.

If the dems are so deluded as to think McAuliffe winning a three-way plurality against a diluted GOP vote, they’ll be in for one nasty surprise next year.

“The ads against Cuccinelli has almost single handedly been war on women attack ads.”

The “war on women” attack ads were used very successfully against Romney. The “brilliant” GOP strategist and Tea Party hater Karl Rove has yet to devise an answer to the “war on women” campaign other than silence which means agreement.

...pfffft ... R-O-V-E.... Is retroactive and selective abortion an option for his family tree?

That fat toad (Rove for the DC_istas) has caused more problems than one individual should ever be allowed to make.

Rove wants DemocRats to win. That makes it easier for his PAC to raise money. The more his PAC takes in, the fuller his pockets become.

Virginia’s a lost cause. Once a reliably red, conservative state, they have been flipped. Once upon a time, Jim Gilmore was elected governor in that state by a landslide and at the time the most popular official in the state. In 2008, Gilmore he was crushed by Mark Warner in the race for US Senate by 30 points. Then they elected Tim Kaine, one of the most corrupt Obama suck-ups of all time. Politicians like Gilmore and George Allen don’t stand stand a chance in Virginia anymore.
