WASHINGTON The Whos Roger Daltrey brought some revolution to the Capitol Wednesday during the installation of a bust of late British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, singing his classic Wont Get Fooled Again to entrenched U.S. lawmakers.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss! the British rock royal belted in his famous American-ized twang, backed by a group of gospel singers, guitar and piano, as the graying congressional leadership looked on in the Capitol rotunda Wednesday.
It was very pertinent to the occasion, Daltrey told the Post, declining to elaborate further on his song selection. Isnt it pretty obvious?

“Won’t get fooled again”? Apparently he wasn’t paying attention in November of 2012.
But that makes a clumsy song lyric.
“Eminence Front” is a song written and sung by Pete Townshend of The Who. It appears as the sixth track on the group’s 1982 studio album, It’s Hard. The single ...
Thanks. Roger Daltry looks like he might be conservative trending.... He’s a generous guy who laid 5000 or so on an old girlfriend.
Love the Who...best Rock n Roll band. Ever. Saw them twice.
And yes, they are capitalists. Ever hear “The Who Sell Out?” Even though they made fun of commericalism, they made money, too.
thanks.... I went there and listened
I wouldn’t call Daltrey a conservative - he supports the Labour Party. But he’s one of the old style Labour men, who were patriots and who believed you improved the lot of the working man by giving them a chance to succeed in life, rather than simply giving people handouts that perpetuated poverty - nothing like the hard line socialists or the ‘New Labour’ ideologues. He opposes current immigration policies in Britain because they reduce the number of jobs available for Britons, for example.
I’ve seen every one of their farewell tours, so I won’t miss this one. And yes, the irony is intended.
Roger Daltry pretty much lays out his political views here. As far as most show biz people go he is a conservative. That airhead Cate Blanchet from Australia...She is a good comparison. She goes on about global warming and other politics from a far left wing view
How about “Athena”? “And now you’re stuck with a castrated leader, and I hate the creep.”
“Athena” is a song written by Pete Townshend and recorded by The Who. It appears as the first track on the group’s tenth studio album It’s Hard, released in 1982. It was released as the first single from that album, achieving moderate chart success at number 28 on the US Billboard Hot 100, but received good airplay on album oriented rock and later classic rock radio formats.
“Athena” reached number 40 on the UK Singles Chart, making it the band’s last UK Top 40 single.
Pete Townshend wrote this song after an encounter with actress Theresa Russell. He promptly fell in love with her, and his frustration of being rejected is contained in this song. In this context, associated with an issue with a film director, it became a subplot of the much later The Lifehouse Chronicles. Townshend initially changed the title to “Athena” to disguise who the song was really about. Roger Daltrey and Townshend share lead vocals on this song.
Despite this being the first single from the album and well-received on rock radio, The Who only played “Athena” a total of ten times on the band’s 1982 tour, and has not played the song again ever since.
“I always thought he would be a smart guy, glad he got over 30 and was no longer a liberal.”
Read a qoute from him back in the early 80’s that he wasn’t leaving a fortune to his children, they should make it on their own. Struck me as somewhat conservative
Won’t be going. I saw the first farewell tour in 1989
These faces are as scary as hell
Won’t get fooled again, like that time he thought Pete Townsend was a licensed proctologist.
The greatest live performance, ever. This is all of them at the top of their game.

At least the straight ones will all have free birth control. And no great loss to the gene pool either, by the looks of them.
Wont get fooled again? Apparently he wasnt paying attention in November of 2012.”
Last I checked he isn’t able to vote in the USA and didn’t have a forum like he did today.
