Suzanne Somers has always been a liberal-leaning blonde bombshell, who seemed just as "ditzy" as her role as Chrissy on Three's Company. But she's showing the intellectual honesty to call 0-care what it is. Sad that it took the death of a dear friend of hers, and the harsh realities of the healthcare system up in the Great White North her loved ones are dealing with.

I’m pretty shocked by her ability to see this. I would never credit her with that much thought.

Are you sure she's liberal-leaning?
I always thought she had a broad fiscal conservative streak. She's a very successful businesswoman.

Somers has been on Hannity’s show. I thought she was a Republican.

She has a business on QVC or one of those shopping channels. She might get it because of that.

Suzanne Somers has always been a liberal-leaning blonde bombshell No, I don't think so. She's been a guest on Hannity and other Fox programs throughout the years, and although she seems reluctant to come right out with it, I 've always been under the impression that she leans right.

I read years ago that Somers is extremely smart. Don’t have any idea about her politics, but she is correct on socialized medicine.
The dizzy blonde was always just an act.t

I’ve had contact with her years ago when she visited my place of employment for a while. The woman was no ditz. She may be now, but not then. She was very articulate, insightful, and perfectly capable of intellectual analysis of complex topics.

Actually, Suzanne Somers had a rough start with a bad homelife and an alcoholic father. She was homeless and I believe had a child when she ended up on the TV night show of the time, to read her poetry. She wrote an inspirational book about growing up in an alcoholic family, but only after her father died...it was an agreement. Her book, I think it was called KEEPING SECRETS is intelligently and passionately written and an inspiration for those brought up in debilitating alcoholic homes to develop their talents and persevere.
Not that long ago, she got cancer and went the self-healing path. She wrote a book that's quite disdainful of the medical profession and supports natural healing.
She's just the opposite of a spoiled, ditzy, handed everything in life stereotype Hollywood star. She's been an inspiration to many people over the decades.

Reading the replies to the blog, I’m astounded at the number of negative responses along with the level of support for the ACA. I wouldn’t have thought that likely in the usual WSJ readership.

Wow, I can hardly believe that I’m in total agreement with her.
That made-for-TV biopic of hers, which was mainly about how she stole her husband from his then-wife, and blamed all her problems on her dad for being an alcoholic....had pretty much turned me off to her.

Socialist Ponzi Scheme??
Much worse. An affirmative action nightmare, according to this article at
The Daily Caller.
If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor under Obamacare if you both belong to the same race. Obamacares spectacular flop of a rollout distracts from its crude calculus that encourages the allocation of healthcare resources along racial lines and a doctor-patient system splintered into ethnicities.
.........
Obamacare, the report reads, provides scholarships and loan repayment support for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds serving in the health professions, and it grants funding for the Health Careers Opportunities Program, which supports schools that recruit and train individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds to work in the health professions. The bill also establishes a grant program at HRSA to promote health care professionals cultural and linguistic competence.
A 2010 report [pdf] from Families USAs Minority Health Initiatives offers similar language. The report applauds the Affordable Care Act for providing health care materials that are culturally and linguistically appropriate. Families USA adds, The legislation also provides grants for training health care providers in culturally appropriate care and services. Grants are indeed handed out on a racial or ethnic basis. For example, Subtitle D, Sec. 756 of the Affordable Care Act lists eligibility requirements for mental health grants that demand universities and colleges recruit and understand the concerns of minority students, that programs offered to those students must emphasize cultural or linguistic competency" and the institutions must provide the HHS Secretary racial data on its student body, under threat of not only losing its grants, but being forced to repay them to the government.

young Canadian medical students have no incentive to become doctors to humans because they cant make any money. Instead, there is a great surge of Canadian students becoming veterinarians. Thats where the money is.Holy crap. Will this be Obama's legacy?
