Former senator Rick Santorum offered qualified praise for Senator Ted Cruz this morning, but said the freshmans effort to force defunding of Obamacare ultimately did more harm than good. Santorum said this wasnt Cruzs objective, which he called a laudable one, but he criticized the senator for having no plan to get to his goal of defeating Obamacare.
Meet the Press host David Gregory asked him whether he thought Cruz could be considered the face of the Republican party, and Santorum said Cruz is a face of the party but not the leader, noting that parties out of the White House often have such a debate over leadership.

Santorum has run out of feet to shoot.
I forgot, what was Santorum’s plan again?
Cruz is way ahead of Rick, plus Cruz has “bigger balls.”
Yup. There he is. When the chips are down, Santorum will always be a “Company” man....
The question is....is this Santorum version 1.0, Santorum version 2.0, Santorum version 3.0, or Santorum version 3.1 speaking?
In a debate between Cruz and Santorum...it’d be over after twelve minutes. Santorum might work ok in Penn as a state legislature guy or maybe governor...beyond that...he’s just not that capable.
He’s lost and confused without his buddy Arlen Specter.
but he criticized the senator for having no plan to get to his goal of defeating Obamacare. The plan was to inspire the Republicans to force Obama to compromise.
‘...said the freshmans effort to force defunding of Obamacare ultimately did more harm than good.’
Words of a chickensh*t.
Wrong, Rick.
Ted Cruz brought to light the evils of a blatantly Marxist grab at the nation’s health care system. How did stating the obvious qualify as “doing more harm than good,” especially now that no less than 10 Senate democrats are calling for a delay in the mandate tax?
And Ted Cruz’ actions didn’t “shut down” the government. The actions if Harry Reid and Barack Obama did.
if=of
I guess Santorum knows quite a lot about doing more harm than good.
and Cruz doesn’t wear a sweater vest..
Et tu Rick?
Santorum needs a new sweater I guess.
I’ve always thought of him as a wimp. Looks like I was right.
How can a guy who loses a Senate race in his own state have the nerve to go ahead and run for President in the first place.
Someone is telling this guy he’s the real thing.
Unfortunately, he is not. We really don’t need to hear from him anymore.
All the wannabes trash Cruz, who is the real deal. They have seen him speak and know they don’t hold a candle to this guy. Keep going Cruz.
What good has Santorum ever done?
Another Republican who cannot support the right side.
I support Cruz....Santorium supports ObamaCare
