Ok, so it appears as though you have no trouble with virae, in general, as long as they can be tracked. As long as one does not come from an illegal, you're ok with it.
There. That was civil and well done and I like the DoughtyOne.
Here’s the thing. Around the year there was a “we’re all going to die” push by the government to inform doctors and patients of the issue of antibiotic resistance. The seriousness of the problem hit the media pretty hard. Physicians were educated about this en mass. (Drug companies were encouraged to develop new antibiotics at the same time.)
So why didn’t physicians take it seriously and tell Little Suzie’s mom *why* they had to wait and be very sure before giving the kid medication? Why didn’t they tell Bill that he’d have to try something else for his sinus infection first?
You kind of made my point for me.
The doctors didn’t take this as seriously as they were warned to and took the easy way out rather than take on a parent/patient. *They* are the educated, licensed professionals and the ultimate responsibility on whether or not to write a ‘script is theirs. The hospitals and clinics that didn’t stand up for their docs are responsible, too.
The patient who only knows that they are sick and they feel better when they take an antibiotic is not the one who’s at fault. It the army of doctors who didn’t have the will to fight when they were first told that the war was on.
I’d also like to reiterate that over prescribing is a SMALL part of the problem. Animal antibiotics, poor hospital hygiene, the AIDS epidemic, and the other things I mentioned earlier had a much bigger impact in total.
Brush your teeth with oregano oil, tea tree oil and clove oil. Gargle with oregano and clove oil, swallow it. Drink green tea with lemon honey and a drop of oregano oil. Buy capsules at health food store and put eight drops of oregano oil. Take twice a day for no more than a week. Take with a handfull of garlic oil. Take grape seed extract capsules for a week or so. Eat raw garlic. You will kill it. This has worked for me.
Unfortunately one of the differences is that while you can kill yourself abusing one, you can turn yourself into a superbug incubator and kill a whole bunch of people with the other.
Yes, I have heard of MRSA. After reading this thread I can’t imagine why anoyne would purchase health insurance or go to a doctor. LOL
Don't prove yourself to be stupider than you already have. Or do you simply not understand the word QUARANTINE??
A recent story (from Chicago, as I recall) detailed the arrival of a legal foreigner via international flight who DID have one of the really bad boys. When they fell ill, they were taken to a hospital, diagnosed, put into quarantine, and treatment begun (unfortunately the patient died). BUT....the CDC was able to, by her LEGAL paper trail, identify those who had been exposed, and quarantine and treat THEM. Only the one person died.
Try doing that if the source is an illegal.
Thanks to both of you for your remedies.
I will definitely follow through next time I get “the cough”. Every time I get a cold it seems to turn into a bronchitis episode.
The last two cold seasons I’ve been lucky, but I did get flu shots, and one bronchitis episode, I did try something new, an antibiotic.
It actually did shorten the duration of the affliction to about a week, from an anticipated several weeks of gut-busting coughing.
I do like guaifenesin.
Like I said, oh my. By your own admission, the problem is not illegal immigration.
>>> Youre saying that pop a Valium is me advocating that you literally self-medicate right now?
It was an attempt to put me down. Sadly, for you, this is the way you chose to word your response. I didn’t force you into it. I didn’t mistakenly claim moments later I never advocate for people to self-medicate?
You could have simply admitted you said it, and acknowledged you didn’t really mean it. Instead you decided to deny you ever suggest such a thing. I mean, how stupid to you have to be Marie?
Well, I guess you’d have to be stupid enough to come to the forum and deny that there is a real problem with moms demanding antibiotics for their children. That’s where you started, when you addressed me in the beginning.
>>> Did you mean that I should literally go outside and get lost or were you being sarcastic?
By the point I addressed you that way, I literally wanted you to get lost, leave me alone. You may have a hard time grasping this, but there being a real problem with this, you in denial, and wanting to continue with the denial in the face of the truth, it was worthless to try to engage you any longer.
>>> Right there, youve lost credibility. Youre not interested in a debate/conversation. You just want to argue. You started an argument when there was none.
Marie, there is a problem with mothers demanding antibitics when they are not needed. If wish to deny that, be my guest. I don’t even mind you thinking I’ve lost credibility. If you want to think this is clear evidence that I just want to argue, that’s fine by me too. I didn’t start the argument. You did. There is a problem. You refust to admit it.
>>> Now youre just mad because you want the last word and Im not giving it to you.
Marie, if you make a comment to me without falsehoods and infantile attempts to belittle me, I’ll move on. Until then, you can expect to be cut off at the knees on each attempt you make to push this further.
>>> Grow up.
You mean like admit errors when I make them? LMAO Marie... seriously.
>>> (And no. I do not mean that you should intentionally grow inches in height.)
No, you mean maturity wise. I still find that to be a strange admonition from someone who had represented themselves as you have here.
>>> As for the rest of the crap that you said, Id happily address each and every point if its in the interest of discourse. But you just want an argument so Im not going to bother.
I addressed a well know accepted provable fact. You jumped in to challenge me on it. Marie, if you want to remain in denial, that’s okay, but don’t expect your denial to reflect poorly on me. If you wish to reference my comments as crap, fine. I provided links for you. If there’s anyone here whose posts are filled with crap, I would suggest it’s the person posting things that they later have to come back and explain they really didn’t mean what they clearly stated.
I did not start the discussion between you and I. I did not jump in to deny truth. You did. You’ve been spinning ever since.
The statement was that a physician would be perfectly happy to deny the Class II narcotic, but perfectly willing to prescribe the other even if not needed.
Generally speaking, this physician does not exist if we’re addressing a pediatrician.
The twisted logic used to make this comparison, is flawed.
Thank you so much for pinging me, my special doctor!
I had DrO come to my computer desk to make a list of all the ingredients. We’ll go shopping tomorrow.
XOXOXO
Blaming nagging moms alone is shortsighted and unfair."
Hey, cows have pushy moms, too:
Howdy Ma’am!
Thought I’d better pass it along, since we both suffer from the same affliction.
Hope all is well with you folks. We’re about ready to commit a couple slabs-a-moo to the butter-fire.
Mmmm, mmm, mmm...smells just like a steakhouse.
LOL! And don’t mess with mama grizzlies!
I’m sorry that I offended you when I thought that we were just having a good, intelligent debate. (Hours and hours ago.)
But you need to put yourself in my shoes. I really was just having a thoughtful discussion and next thing I know you’re telling me to ‘get lost’.
Medicine + politics = politics
= CDC
Alright Marie, then I apologize for my part in it too.
As you stated, physicians are part of the problem. The beef and poultry industries contribute. Then there are the problems we discussed here.
It all needs to be addressed. I tried to address what we can take an active part in, just by changing how we look at things. I wasn’t meaning to say that mothers are the only problem. If it came out that way, I didn’t express myself accurately.
I am sorry you child had to go through what they did. I know that was a tough period for you and your family. I don’t like to see families go through things like that.
I understand. The point was that the classifications seem to create a perception that there are potential negative consequences to over prescribing one but not the other, and that doesn’t seem to be a good assumption.
Not a problem.
You and I have had several great conversations in the past and I hope that this can continue. I’ve always liked chatting and debating with you. We tend to agree on most issues and have never had a problem debating before.
In the future, if I say something and it can be taken two ways, and one of those ways doesn’t offend you and the other makes you want to slap me, then know that I meant it the first way.
Yep. My thought too.
