One of President Obama’s most ardent liberal supporters has defected from Obamacare.
“We will be encouraging a waiver,” Polis told Health Policy Solutions in a story that ran today. “It will be difficult for Summit County residents to become insured. For the vast majority, it’s too high a price to pay.”
Polis also wrote to Colorado’s insurance commissioner asking why an average 40-year-old mountaintop resident would have to fork over $427.80 a month while counterparts in Denver would pay $296.41 for the same plan.
“People take one look at the rates and they walk out the door,” said Tamara Drangstveit, executive director of the Family and Intercultural Resource Center,

I agree, but I am also ashamed to say I am in his district. SO MANY Californians moved here I am seriously considering moving to WY.
If all it takes is for your Congressman to apply for an exemption, I’d say the line forms on the right.
Healthcare at government gunpoint will not be pretty. If this dipstick gets some splashback then it surely is deserved.
I have 2 friends who live on the same street - but the county line runs right down the middle of the street. They have basically the same types of histories [health, occupation, etc.] and are the same age.
They decided to check into identical plans and found out that one would pay $237 more a month - just because he lives in the other county ...
It’s worse than that for folks who live in pricey counties. Yes, they have nice homes with 3 car garages and new cars, but they’re also up to their earlobes in debt and barely making it. And now along come the Ocare insurance fees.
If America is not relieved of the Ocare elephant, families are going to go under by the hundreds of thousands.
