But road oils and grease and other pollutants are okay to run into the sewer system but not soap. Got it.

Between that and Die Hard, I think the guy was just a bit typecast.

No, but Canyon Lake doesn’t look all that bad, IMO...

You would think with all the rain the level would go up more.

I heard about that Lake Medina. That is so sad.

The rains will come in due time—unless the desert is trying to take a huge part of the Lone Star State back.........

I am pretty much almost all enviro regulations, but this isn’t one of them in a densely populated area.

I didn’t know these types of car washes were allowed anywhere anymore.”

One of the local high schools in the Houston suburbs had one last weekend which took place in the Sonic parking lot. I don’t buy from Sonic any more but did patronize them. Good way for kids to raise money - at least in parts of Texas kids are still allowed to do kid things which lets them be involved.

I don’t know why so many here are raging about sensible rules to keep lakes, rivers, and creeks clean. Our local economy has been severely impacted by our two major rivers being slowly killed by urban, and agricultural runoff, and ACE discharges from Lake Okeechobee. Fishing has in the past been a big business here. When major algae blooms and fish kills start happening because of changes to the water due to the runoff it matters. It is not just a “liberal” cause.

Caring about where you live and the resources that are a source of income for many is not being a Communist. It is caring about stewardship and the responsibility God gave us to care for and respect His creation.

In Texas, too.....fundraising car washes are okay here, too.

awesome. Just add water.

Take this opportunity to clean up the glass on the bottom of the lake where the kids like to swim.

No old villages down there?

:p

That is pretty dry

There are car washes all the time in my city to help pay for gangbangers’ funerals. I’d like to see the Enviro Cops try to shut one down!

I don't have a picture of Canyon Lake, I might try to get one soon just to see how low it is compared to internet pictures of what its supposed to look like.

Yeah, but we were at 639 feet as of yesterday. At least that is what the board said.

These byzantine regulations don’t just apply to high school sports teams struggling to raise money, but also to individuals who want to give their car a rinse.

Try explaining that to the Mexicans in East San Jose.
