Republicans need to find an effective way to combat Santa-Uncle-Sam, but when they mention it, they get skewered.
Agreed but the comment was begging for trouble. He could have said "Lazy People" and been just as effective and honest to boot. (minorities are hardly the sole source of the problem) Beside, it just proves what democrats claim about republicans. In my opinion we should refuse to acknowledge race at all.
My attitude is that the GOP should be concentrating on entitlements a lot less and concentrating on eliminating regulations and taxes a lot more. 100,000 people on welfare is nowhere near as economically damaging as 1 EPA regulation that costs 1 million jobs. Obviously entitlements do need to be severely cut, but doing so without an even greater attempt to create jobs will only create democrats.
My idea on welfare is that it should be a program that encourages greater self reliance. I would cut benefits to bare survival levels for all but the truly needy and offer to increase those benefits in return for community service and real career oriented training.
I would also put some choices to the entitlement crowd. They can have the EPA or they can have their benefits.

Everyone knows (but is reluctant to publicly admit) that blacks use the "N" word because they hate being black. It's one of their ways of lashing out at the world without expending alot of energy.
LMAO!!!!

I agree with you about the GOP should concentrate on jobs!
I think that is the real elephant in the room. It is a difficult and loosing argument to go against entitlements with so much unemployment. To do so in this environment really makes Republicans look cold-hearted. And, I still think the majority of folks really do want to work at a decent full-time job. Obama has destroyed that dream of all young Americans, and it is a travesty.
Jobs, Jobs, Jobs! And then repeat after me - Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!
