The Obama administration said Thursday that 700,000 people have completed applications for coverage in the health laws new marketplaces a key step before people can begin shopping for insurance plans.
In the first telephone press conference with reporters since the launch of the exchanges more than three weeks ago, Julie Bataille, director of the CMS Office of Communications, said the agency is confident consumers will be able to apply and enroll, certainly by Dec. 15.

Applied, meaning completed or merely attempted? Does applied mean 100% were eligible and signed up? Are those who were accepted and later deleted by the software being counted twice? Get back to me with the numbers a year from now. Not that those will be any closer to the truth just like the unemployment numbers.

Actually 90% of them will get free insurance thru expanded Medicaid. The other 10% will be subsidized.
