The House of Representatives just passed a bill aimed at keeping convicted sex offenders and violent felons from working in schools. As it heads to the Senate with bipartisan support, the teachers unions are now objecting.
Megyn Kelly asked on her show tonight, “What is the real endgame by the unions? Because you can’t imagine that the unions want convicted rapists to be working next to their children in these schools. So what is the motivation?”
Kyle Olson, from the Education Action Group Foundation, said the unions are out to protect adults, the members who pay their dues, and not the interests of the children. “We should have a higher ethical standard for teachers and school employees.”
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) also opposes the bill because he says the language would ignore the ability of people to overcome their criminal backgrounds by imposing lifetime bans.
Olson said, “We’re not saying these people shouldn’t be able to have a job. […] But they shouldn't be in a school, they shouldn’t have direct access to children.”
“Who wants a convicted sex offender working next to their children?!” Megyn Kelly reacted. “There are certain rights you give up if you rape somebody and get convicted.”

working in a school isn’t anyone’s right. nobody has a “right” to work in a school, or anywhere, for that matter.
Most libs are pedophiles so it makes sense that the Unions want their lib buddies to continue molesting children in schools
As a Minnesotan, I want to apologize to my fellow Americans that for some reason this state keeps electing whackos to higher office, and Keith Ellison is certainly no exception. I don’t know if there’s something in the water here or what, but I just wanted fellow FReepers to know that there are a few of us out here trying to do our part.
I don’t see what the problem is. It’s not like the convicted rapist can bring a gun to school. There’s no glitch here/nothing to see.
Over 20 yrs ago I happened to read a mag put out by the NEA....after reading the article I informed my children if they chose to become public school teachers I wouldnt pay for their college and they would be removed from my will as well as being disowned!
Everyday I my decision has proved to be correct!
All my kids are now productive members of society!

Also, pro-homosexualist Kelly probably has no problem with homosexuals working with children until they get caught doing something to a kid.
Maybe the Teachers Unions thought the bill proposed to stop the raping of the taxpayers ... but then again, maybe not.

Funny thing is, when Keith Ellison first ran for Congress, not one word was uttered in the media about him being a Muslim. That only came out *after* he was elected.
