Twelve years after 9/11, the U.S. has changed sides. The Long War Journal reported on June 29 that the Al Nusrah Front for the People of the Levant, which is al Qaedas affiliate in Syria, has cooperated with Free Syrian Army units to establish sharia, or Islamic law, in Aleppo and in eastern Syria. What is the Free Syrian Army? The "moderates" whom we are training and to whom we are giving weapons: the US government is backing the Free Syrian Army despite the groups known ties to the Al Nusrah Front.
"Training of Syrian insurgents steps up in Saudi Arabia," by Mohammed Najib for IHS Jane's Defence Weekly, October 17 .

Free Syrian Army (FSA) units are receiving intensive training from US Marine Corps personnel in Saudi Arabia, a senior FSA source has told IHS Jane's . The source said the United States and Saudi Arabia have agreed to train around 1,500 insurgents. The programme began a few months ago and most of the personnel will be trained by the end of 2013.

The House is as useless as teats on a Bull.

What is the Free Syrian Army? The "moderates" whom we are training and to whom we are giving weaponsThat's straight BS, but it's a frequent drumbeat around here. The FSA began as secular resistance among Syrian army defectors, fundie groups started to fight the regime, sometimes alongside the FSA, sometimes purportedly under their umbrella, but that variance in goals of the various fundie groups and the FSA led to a split over a year ago, culminating in the 2013 assassinations and attempted assassinations of FSA leaders by the various al-Qaeda affiliates.
Three more years of this nightmare.
LOLOLOL! Oh, I’m definitely stealin’ that!!!

Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists.
[by “anti-government activists” is meant church-burning jihadists]
Doesn’t matter. If AQ is in your organization, you are no more. AQ rules.
The Afghan army, for example, is by now basically an AQ franchise.
Used to be:
TTTOO
(Time To Take Out (__)o(__))
Maybe now needs to change:
TTFOTTH
(Time To Feed (__)o(__) To The Hogs)
Oh, it does matter.
None of this makes sense to me-—
nor should it!
How do we, as Americans, tolerate
this?!

Really? Show how the FSA is simply a moderate anti-Assad force.
The fact is that the initiative to take out Assad was by AQ central command, and it was then immediately joined by Obama. AQ even made it specific that Assad was the next domino to topple in their chain of attacks. This was in the clear.
