The Abysmal, Pathetic Obamacare Rollout
The Daily Beast's Politics Beast ^ | October 17, 2013 | Nick Gillespie

The best jokes about the absolutely abysmal rollout of Obamacare have come not from the program’s critics but from the Affordable Care Act’s two biggest champions. And the biggest tears? Well, those will come from the rest of us over the coming years, in the form of declining levels of choice in health care and rising prices.

Faced with the manifest—and ongoing—failure of the federal exchange at Healthcare.gov to allow people to shop, compare, and enroll in great new insurance at low, low prices, Barack Obama huffed, “Just a couple of weeks ago, Apple rolled out a new mobile operating system, and within days, they found a glitch, so they fixed it. I don’t remember anybody suggesting Apple should stop selling iPhones or iPads or threatening to shut down the company if they didn’t.”

The president’s comments deliberately echoed that of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who on the launch date pleaded with Americans to “give us the same slack they give Apple…If there’s not quite the operational excellence right away, we’ll continue to press for that.”(continued)

If the government ran Apple, this would be your iPhone...

And to add insult to injury, it would cost $1200.00

There is a big difference between what the enrollment sites were doing and what Apple was doing - Apple has to be doing things that ultimately yield a profit, and the enrollment sites have to do no such thing.

If there is not the incentive of expectation of profit, then there will never be the expectation of excellence. In anything.

What DOES incentive mean to the liberal mindset?

What DOES incentive mean to the liberal mindset?

Incentive to a liberal means a golden parachute.
Incentive for everyone else means a sharp stick.

That is total bull crap. If Apple had that kind of roll out they'd be out of business within a month. People would be demanding their money back and buying Samsung.

It is very obvious that these goofballs don't know business.

They don't need functionality or a product that any sane person would want. The IRS and DMV always have long lines of people waiting for their "service" and ObamaCare will be the same.

One sad part is that those who can afford real care will have to pay the overhead cost to fly to a free country where they can get fee for service care in any non-emergency situation. Another sad element is that medical progress will grind to a screeching halt now that new treatments will be competing more than ever against other lobbyist-supported demands on taxpayer dollars. The trampling of the Bill of Rights, the rest of the Constitution, and the Supreme Court's tiny remaining shred of credibility are not the only casualties of this terrible law.

Business? Oh you mean capitalism?
Well, how would they, it’s only something they learned
about in college.

speaking of the government/dmv..

I got a ticket the other day. My tags where 4 days expired. officers normally issue warning tickets because you can get a ticket tossed out provided you buy tags before they are 11 days expired.

I did. I bought um that same day.

So I went to the court house with the ticket and tag receipt. “oh you have to see the judge for this. Can you come in on the 31st?” what? why? the law is clear. Ticket gets canceled if I buy tags before the 10 days is up. “oh yes, but you need to see the judge. he can cancel it for you. Oh, by the way. There will be a 50 dollar court cost regardless of the outcome of your case” go figure.. the ticket is 100, the fee for seeing the judge is 50 and I’ll bet they know what I am thinking.. is an afternoon of my time worth 50 bucks?

Nope. They are likely going to get the 100 bucks out of me so I can stay in the field and make much more than 50.

Oh, and they admitted they NEVER sent me the renewal notice.

Ant it'd be up to you to rinse the tins clean and scratch the labels off to get them to work at all...

Business according to Liberals: it is something to tax so that you can give free stuff to voters so that those voters will love you and vote for you. And it is run buy evil stingy rich white men who don’t give a damn about their employees and are only interested in making money.

No sh*t !!! Apple was releasing a COMPLEX OS, but the government was releasing what should have been a SIMPLE order processing site [ala Amazon] - and the government completely fu*ked it up ...
