On his radio show Tuesday evening, Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin lamented the current state of the Republican Party and both wondered aloud whether the time is nigh to form a third party for disillusioned conservatives.
Theres no difference between the two parties, at this point, Hannity asserted. At another point during the interview, Palin suggested the presidents actions on the debt ceiling have, thus far, been impeachable offenses. The two discussed whether its plausible to jump ship to a third party now that the GOP has seemingly abandoned both of them and their followers.
Later on during the discussion, Hannity mentioned to Palin that there is much speculation about her upcoming speech in the caucus state of Iowa. Some have suggested shes gearing up for a 2014 Alaskan senatorial challenge against incumbent Democrat Mark Begich; others are wondering whether she intends to throw her hat into the ring for 2016.
Are any of these things in your mind at all? Or is this just nonsense? Hannity asked. Palins somewhat dodgy response [emphasis added]:
Not sounding cliché or flighty on this or anything, Sean, my mission is to help the good guys who are in there wanting to make a difference. I dont know if that entails me holding a position, having a title. Sometimes the title shackles you, and youre not free to get out there and do what needs to be done. Look, Ronald Reagan said and I shared this with the vets on Sunday at the World War II memorial I said that Ronald Reagan reminded us that some people live an entire lifetime wondering if they ever made a difference in the world. Our vets and those who are supportive of our vets which, to me, is very symbolic of all that really matters in this country at this point, the priorities in our government. Our vets and their supporters, they need not ask of themselves whether they made a difference. Theyve made all the difference. What I want to do is make a difference. And I dont know if that would require me to have a title.
Got that?
[Ed. note: The headline has been updated to reflect the fact that it seems Hannity and Palin were solely discussing the 2014 Alaskan senate race, and not the 2016 presidential primaries.]

>> For a decade here at FR I scoffed at suggestions for a turd party. Not any more.
Ditto!
I guess we’ll have to be sure to remind the voters of that come midterm election time-over and over and over again. Every conversation they start needs to end in a conversation about gun control and surveillance directed at law abiding citizens imo. A vote for a democrat is a vote to take away your civil rights. We tend to let them talk about the things that they want to talk about. Not this time.
Sleep it off.
Was she to stuff ballot boxes?
Yeah how dare she not work harder so you could free up more time to be a better keyboard commando!
..... Yup .... you know there is a problem when the weakest inarticulate bumbling members of the party blame the strongest and most articulate members with leadership abilities for their failures!
No, the “conservatives” in congress have declared true conservatives persona non grata.
Frankly, I’m not a dog. I refuse to return to that vomit.
Ronald Reagan Bump
But..but...I thought the media told me that all those veterans were “mad” at Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin for “politicizing” their march?! Did someone lie to me, again?
I keep asking my conservative friends: If you call yourself a conservative, how can you remain in the Republican party? Why support a party that hates and despises you? Why support a party that lies to you over and over again?
It’s true that the US has a 2-party system. We have the Democrats, who are the liberal party. And we have the Republicans who are the other liberal party. If you call yourself a conservative, then how can you continue to participate in such a horrible joke?
My sunsets are now in the Philippines. I moved here at the end of February, and plan to spend the rest of my life. I started drawing Social Security early after the company went broke that I worked with. I worked with another and the same thing happened again. It wasn't me, it was the economy stifling the economy.
I tried living a year at the Armed Forces retirement home in Gulfport Mississippi, and a second near at the one in Washington DC. I was surrounded by old people, as nice as can be, but I'm not there yet. I just turned 66, and the average age of DC was 88, with one over 100.
This is quite successful in working, and did some good things with my money. But, I am now here living on my Social Security and wondering if it will continue to come. I formed a couple of not-for-profit's in the USA, and operate as an NGO over here. It keeps me busy, but there isn't much money left for my work. Most of my savings and investments went into a family trust for my grandchildren, because I already have everything that I need.
I am preparing to move from the small city of Ormoc, Leyte, to Davao, a city of 2.5 million. Some guy there in FReeperland was telling me about the crime and corruption in these Third World dumps and I just had to laugh. Davao City has some poor parts, for sure, but there are also seven large malls and subdivisions where I will be living is adjacent to a very clean beach, and it cost me nine pesos to take a jeepney ride to the mall. The current exchange rate is 43.19 pesos per dollar. I'll be renting a two-bedroom house for 5000 pesos per month and it's a three block walk into the sea. I'm moving from a two-story, five bedroom house where I only pay 10,000. You do the math!
I posted him a picture of Steny Hoyer, Nancy Pelosi, and a couple of the black caucus members, and assured him that corruption can be found just anywhere. With the present administration, Jimmy Hoffa's outfit looks pretty tame!
Davao City from the air...
We don’t need a third-party we need a second party. Dems and Republicans are the same.
LOL.
Yep, and ain’t that amazin’?
Sarah is too loyal right now to openly challenge John McCain. I predict that one day, she will take it to him. I expect John to break their ‘code of decency’ first. The Dems will be after him to deflate Sarah’s public standing again.
“I cant believe Hannity is sincere about forming a Conservative Third Party. He strikes me as more of a showman than anything else.”
He isn’t a conservative, and he’s not very bright.
“Where was Sarah Palin in 2012 WHEN WE NEEDED HER?”
She campaigned in 2012; the media simply ignored her. There was no shortage of pictures here on FR of her stumping for individual candidates.
The media has created this myth of her as a retarded Christian from the Middle Ages; they very successfully marginalized her politically. She could have an impact in small local races in traditionally conservative areas, but outside of that she has no clout.
At a time when we are supposed to cheer any time a woman or minority has a successful bowel movement, I was struck by how little attention was paid to her running as VP; yesterday we watched a blind man run for the US Senate in NJ, but I guess he was too conservative for that to merit national attention.
