Rush Limbaugh: GOP so irrelevant By: Mackenzie Weinger October 16, 2013 02:25 PM EDT
Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday blasted the Republican Party as irrelevant and responsible for creating one of the greatest political disasters hes ever seen.
I was trying to think earlier today, if ever in my life I could remember any major political party being so irrelevant, the conservative radio host said on his show, according to a transcript. I have never seen it. I have never seen a major political party simply occupy placeholders, as the Republican Party is doing.
Limbaugh slammed the Republican Party for consistently failing to offer any serious opposition to the Democratic Party or President Barack Obama. And now the party has made an inexplicable political cave-in with the agreement to reopen the government and lift the debt ceiling, he said.
There hasnt been any opposition, not any serious opposition, Limbaugh said. There may have been votes against this or that, votes against Obamacare. There may have been votes against the stimulus, but in terms of a package of policies, a package of principled beliefs, of opposition expressed daily by party leaders against whats happening in this country, there hasnt been.
The only real pushback, Limbaugh said, has come from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah). This is not the time to abandon Ted Cruz or Mike Lee, folks, he told his listeners.
You know that what they attempted to do here was, I think, valiant, he said. Its been an illustration of just how terribly wrong things are. There are plenty of opportunities for lessons to be learned here. Now, look, Im not living in a false reality here.

Boehner did not fight the good fight. If he had been serious, the whip would have been out beating republicans into line. There’s no way the President could have won against a united republican majority in the House.
A united House majority can cut off funds and that always eventually catches up.
Are you firm on that?
Still though Rush won’t recommend candidates to the sheeple, who might or might not respond. Thefore the GOP sheeple just throw their votes into the air among many candidates and cannot agree on one strong conservative.
As I recall, Rush was urging votes for H. Clinton to stop Obama. He knew how confused the American people are.
“The mainstream GOP leadership is just plain stupid (they ran Romney, case closed). There is no getting around that.”
Not stupid, corrupt. It’s a good cop/ bad cop game. And we’re the marks.
“Limbaugh was/is part of the problem...”
Yup. For someone who said he wasn’t going to carry the water for the gop, he sure does heft a lot of buckets. He’s also a bonafide shill for crony capitalism.
I may listen to a few minutes from time to time, but I’m changing the station within a couple of minutes, tops. Just not a good use of my time.
“The ONLY way that the GOP-E will feel pain is if we stop funding the RNC.”
Good luck. The RNC as well as the DNC is funded by the crony capitalists. The pittance they get from the middle class isn’t enough to change it’s behavior one way or the other.
Rush is the water boy for the GOPe, screw him.
“Im not sure it was a bribe, it is basically campaign money now.”
Keep in mind that what goes to his PAC can go with him when he retires.
“Team Rove will be in full force as well to get him re-elected. IRS will be combing whoever runs against him, etc.”
He’ll pull out of the election some time in the spring. Count on it. From here on out, he’s just feathering his retirement nest.
You may be correct. I hadn’t thought of that scenario.
Infiltrators AKA sappers...
Classic communist tactics.
