Texas Sen. Ted Cruz railed against a Senate deal to end the government shutdown and raise the debt limit, but he said to filibuster would be a pointless exercise.
It is about all the people across this country who are right now facing terrifying decisions, because they are losing their health care, losing their jobs, being left in the cold. And, sadly, the United States Senate has said Washington will do nothing, he said.
The Washington establishment is refusing to listen to the American people. The deal that has been cut provides no relief to millions of American who are hurting because of Obamacare, Cruz added.

It’s hard to fight a war when the losing side doesn’t realize it is in fact at war. This goes for the Tea Party too. When you let your enemy define you and tell lies about you with no consequence this is what happens. There was no coherent strategy, no attempt to delegitimize your opponents like they do to us.
There’s gonna be war now. A war for the Republican Party. I don’t expect us to win but it will end up with the demise of the current Republican Party one way or another.
Dirty bastard.
Cruz was magnificent!
bull shit
At the risk of drawing the wrath of the FReepers, may I remind everybody that this is the second (or is it the third?) time that Boehner has had his legs cut from under him by Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans?
In every case, McConnell has negotiated a deal with Reid in the Senate that has left Boehner and the House Republicans high and dry.
Folks, the real problem with the Republican Party is in the Senate (and in the RNC and its consultants) -- not in the House.
Cruz has the right strategy. The GOPe just doesn’t have the balls it takes to win.
Yup, trying to defeat the dims and GOP e by yourself is impossible. Plus the dims and sheet head have the SRM working against Ted Cruz.
Can’t help you, AZ is Rat now.
I differ on who makes up the conglomerate. I believe it goes in this order: the communist-Islamist alliance headed by George Soros, the media, Valerie Jarrett, Eric Holder (the one keeping Obama afloat by disabling all federal law enforcement), the czars the placeholder-in-chief Obama installed, Obama, and Congress.
The main one that we can do anything about is the media, and if we could figure out a way to neuter their power over the ignorant masses, everything would change. The other one we can do something about is Holder; we have to do it through the Constitutional actions of the states.
Like what?
“What? Definition of courage? This isnt about courageously going down to defeat. This is about WINNING. We need a smarter strategy.”
Yeah? Cruz stood up. I didn’t see you doing anything. What are you doing besides b*tching on a conservative website? Talk is cheap.
Interesting!
Oh, I am not forgetting that don’t worry.
Boehner was being propped up in the house and attacking Obama in every speech. He folded and is a disgrace, but EVERYONE knows who was behind this.
CRAPWEASEL MCCONNELL & Co.
I’m making a donation to Matt Bevin tomorrow. This bastard has stabbed us in the back for the last time!
Yeah, I saw that a hole and almost threw my wireless mouse at the tee vee. McPain sucks big time. I voted for Palin, not him.
I firmly disagree with you. The gift of Ted Cruz is shedding a huge light on all those who are working against us.
I thank him every damn day. If you liked living in make believe, before the light went on, good for you.
The rest of us have a country to fight for.
I will walk across broken glass and fight my way through land mines to vote for Cruz for President!
When the turd-le McCornhole came out of his shell, he was up to no good.
Time for the entire south to secede and secure the border. eff the dims.
“Sadly, I think the American Republic is essentially dead, as is the GOP.”
Well, America as a constitutional republic is on life support. The GOP? It’s stinking up the place! It’s time to bury it so we don’t have to put up with the stench.
