Bevin Says McConnell 'Sold Out' Kentuckians With Default Deal

Republican Matt Bevin said Kentuckians were "sold out" by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for negotiating a debt ceiling increase deal with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV).

Bevin, who is running against McConnell in the Republican Senate primary in Kentucky, released a statement bashing the top Senate Republican Wednesday afternoon after he and Reid cemented a deal to avert a debt default.

Read the statement below:

"When the stakes are highest, Mitch McConnell can always be counted on to sell out conservatives.

"McConnell just negotiated the GOP surrender to Harry Reid, leading the charge to give President Obama a blank check and lifting the debt ceiling once again without any spending reforms. Harry Reid has even praised McConnell for his 'cooperation.' "After falsely promising that he would fight to eliminate Obamacare 'root and branch,' Sen. McConnell has instead given us more spending, more borrowing, and the Obamacare train wreck with exceptions for liberal pet interests.

"Kentuckians are overwhelmingly opposed to Obamacare. Why does Mitch McConnell refuse to listen to his own constituents?

"McConnell's rotten 'deal' is a slap in the face to ordinary Kentuckians who will be forced to pay for Obamacare's regulations and mandates and this is yet another reason why we are sick of career politicians selling us out.

"The more taxpayers learn about this McConnell-Reid deal, the more they will 'join the fringe' and vote to send conservative values back to the U.S. Senate."

McConnell has no spine to fight the Dems, only other Repubs. Same as Boehner.

I hope this guy fights as hard against the Dem he may have to go up against as he is against Mitch. Wow, he pulled no punches.

Definitely on my list to donate too, along with Bevin who just go a major endorsement...

EXACTLY THIS IS WHERE THE FAILING IS... there is no real conservative caucus in the Senate of any size to accomplish much of anything.. so the house was forced out of the picture.

Tea Party needs to grow its caucus in the Senate to something beyond 3 or 4 folks and continue to grow the house....

The Republicans in the Senate are the one the blame goes to for nothing of substance coming from all this.

And here is the picture for the Bevin campaign ad ... Mitch is all smiles with Dingy Harry post-surrender ...

It's a terrible day for America; what does Mitch think?

I despise people like McConnell for letting someone call them every name in the book and not say one word back to them.

All he did was say, ‘yes sir’ to Reid...

It is my understanding that his full sentence was ... 'thank you sir, may I have another ...'

Talk about fighting hard and dirty you should have heard the the slimy lying attack campaign mcconnell unleashed on Bevin. The clintonistas would have been proud. Take my word mcconnell NEVER fought for Kentuckians against democrats as hard as he fought for mitch against Bevin.
