I know it’s not going to be ‘popular’, but the “more conservative version) house bill has not gone far enough.
ABSOLUTELY NO ONE should enjoy waivers, exempt or any such thing. Obama, Pelosi unions and progressives want to enact this ‘law of the land’ onto the nation, they should be made shining examples of said law.
Don’t do the short term deal to ‘open up’ the government - once gop retreat on this, they are DONE!
Wow.
Scrapping that medical device tax will truly help the little people who are to be tyrannized by obamacare.

P.S. The Senate GOP is a sick joke. But ALL of them in both bodies, save for a few stalwarts, are useless to the people who sent them there to represent us.
Yes. It's for their K Street lobbyist pals who they hope to join asap.
Waivers, IMHO, are unconstitutional.
Maybe they want to run against union waver and indiv mandate penalty. Strategery?
Ironic, isn’t it?
The GOP complained that obamacare waivers only helped big business, not the individual.
But according to this, they have whittled down their proposals - by negotiating against themselves - to scrapping a tax that is levied against medical device manufacturers, without a peep about the suffering individual Americans.
I’m aware that taxes are passed down to consumers, but the issue at hand is that individual Americans are subject to a mandate that has been postponed for big business - under the GOP’s own proposal.
And that’s only in the House.
The Senate couldn’t be bothered with anything other than caving to the almighty Reid/Obama.
This is what passes for “conservativism” these days. It doesn’t deserve the word. It isn’t even watered down conservativism.
It’s nothing.
A big, fat zero.
Mark Levin makes the point daily. What does the Republican party stand for?
His answer sums it up. They are the STATUS QUO Republicans.
Whatever the STATUS QUO is (driven by the Left’s agenda), the Republicans end up preserving it.
a delay of Obamacare’s medical device tax
*********
I saw a diagram showing the funding sources for Obamacare about a year ago. The medical device tax was intended to provide a significant amount of money to support the program. That was its main purpose.
So without this tax, it would seem that Obamacare is losing one of its funding “pillars” and will have to find money elsewhere to make up this shortfall. Where would this come from and who would be impacted?
Its just something that nobody seems to be talking about.
Mark Levin makes the point daily. What does the Republican party stand for?
*************
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. A party without a soul.
I understand.
That’s a reasonable summation.
I see it slightly different.
The Dems have no soul.
The Republicans have no guts.
But that’s just me.
yes, they are like the UK conservatives since 1945 (except when Thatcher was leader)
the UK non-Thatcher tories have always accepted the overall policies of the Labour Party, and just quibbled about the details.
There income is too high to qualify for subsidies.
They need to make the staffers and all federal workers use Obamacare. That way the pain is felt right in DC.
Weasels, pretending they are going to have the same care as the common folk, while allowing all their staffs to have their Obamacare costs covered. Does anyone believe these elitists will not ensure they have the best Dr.’s and care via some other vehicle later when the outcry diminishes?
And everything they are doing will be changed in the middle of the night while no one is looking.
Exactly what they did for that insider trading bill.
A $1,000/month premium and a $12,000 deductible?
Conservatives are demanding that the full Vitter amendment for all staffers be put in the bill. I like that - if this ship is going down, the staffers and Congress critters better be on board.
....this is the conservative alternative???????????
Boehner has NO message except 'BLAME US THE REPUBLICANS' while the Democrats are unified in their talking points! It's time for Boehner to step aside. He should CLEARLY state how and why 0bamacare is a train wreck. The Dems preach to the LIV's and Boehner should talk in a language the LIV's can understand, too.
