I was reading reviews of some classic flick from about fifty years ago or so, and one obviously very youthful reviewer opined as how he couldn’t stand older movies. In his mind there are just so many modern “great” movies, he couldn’t understand how anybody could watch a movie older than say ten or fifteen years. I have absolutely no idea how to respond to someone like that short of just hoping as they get older their tastes improve.

Greatness is Greatness!

Have watched many films multiple times. Two of them made in 1939. Some may have heard of them Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind.
One of my favorite films was, I think a French Film, on Napoleon. 5 hours shown in two sessions in Sacramento. Battle scenes in split screen and Sepia. Started with Napoleon as a child and went all the way thru.

Godfather trilogy near the top of my list. How old is that now, 40 years?

Great is great, no matter the year made.

I miss the old movies from the 50s, 60s and some from the 70s. The remakes that they are doing now suck

It’s funny because I see many younger folks on you tube music threads praising the music from the 80s and prior. Some of them actually do appreciate older things and that is nice to see,
