The Air Force on Friday fired the general in charge of all land-based nuclear missiles, the second time in a week that a senior commander of the countrys nuclear arsenal has been let go for allegations of personal misconduct.
Maj. Gen. Michael Carey, commander of the 20th Air Force, was removed from his job due to a loss of trust and confidence in his leadership and judgment, said Brig. Gen. Les Kodlick, an Air Force spokesman. Air Force officials said Carey has been under investigation since this summer for allegations of personal misbehavior but would not specify what prompted his firing.
Pressed by reporters at a Pentagon news conference, Kodlick said the case did not involve drugs, sexual misconduct, gambling or any form of criminal activity, but he declined to comment when asked if alcohol played a role. He said he could not give further details because the investigation was still underway.
We wanted to make it very clear it wasnt operations-related, Kodlick said.
Careys firing comes two days after the Navy announced it had fired a three-star admiral from his post as deputy commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, which oversees all nuclear-armed missiles, bombers and submarines.
In that case, Vice Adm. Tim Giardina remains under investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service after a casino in Iowa allegedly caught him using $1,500 in counterfeit gambling chips. The casino is near the Strategic Command headquarters in Omaha.

You’re right. He resigned from the CIA in 2012. I took the list from the article: ———— “Obama’s Purge: Military Officers Replaced Under the Commander-in-Chief “ —————— http://www.ijreview.com/2013/06/62053-president-obamas-purge-military-officers-replaced-by-the-commander-in-chief/ ——— It is not the same, but we also had the Louis Caldera resignation over the AF1 flyover of NYC —— and AFAIK they never released the complete passenger list.
;^) your welcome...I live to find stuff..
This military purge seems to be a pattern. Obama also apparently purged the civil service of Republicans(I found article about the plans in 2009). There were men who were Bush political appointees AT ONE TIME, and later became civil service employees. Obama made a retroactive rule to get rid of them since they were once political.
Obama has also purged at least one, if not more, Inspectors General. It is a pattern of civil and military purges. Helps to explain why there has been so little pushback inside the Regime against Obama/Jarrett or whomever is devising the plans.

Great movie, one of my favorites. Sellers was one of a very few. His portrayal of Strangelove was great :-)
I read that Sellers was originally supposed to also play the part of Major Kong, but he hurt himself and couldn't sit in the B-52 cockpit, so they hired Slim Pickens for the role. However it came about, you couldn't do better than Slim Pickens as Major Kong. To me, Major Kong as portrayed by Slim Pickens is the epitome of good old American values.
And as you say, Dr. Strangelove is an all-time great character. I loved the way he had to wrestle his arm to keep it from doing a Nazi salute.
