Megyn Kelly is Killing it in the Ratings

If there was any doubt surrounding Megyn Kelly’s success when she returned from maternity leave, her performance so far this week has put all the haters to shame!

On her premiere night, Megyn had Senator Ted Cruz as a guest and did great in ratings. But what’s even more impressive is how she did even better in the ratings on her second night doing the show.

In her second night on Fox News’ new primetime lineup, Megyn Kelly clocked the highest adults 25-54 rating across all of cable news, building on her Bill O’Reilly lead-in. Kelly averaged 623,000 demo viewers and 2.8 million viewers overall — and did it without Sen. Ted Cruz, her premiere-night big “get.” Compared to her maiden voyage in primetime the previous night Kelly’s show jumped 116% in the demo and 34% in overall audience. In so doing, she beat CNN’s Piers Morgan and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow combined — in both metrics. Morgan logged 590,000 viewers, 169,000 of them in the demo; Maddow logged 1.1 million viewers, 291,000 in the demo.

The O’Reilly lead in has certainly been helpful for getting viewers initially, but obviously people are liking Ms. Kelly’s show enough to stick around. The new lineup for Fox seems to be working for them and viewers seem to be happy with the choice of new primetime queen!

Don’t need to see a video I was watching that night and I was appalled and curbed my Fox viewing from that day forward by 99%.

I think they make them wear the heavy makeup maybe because of the lighting.

Yea, like stage make-up you mean? I still think there must be a way they could back it off a bit, though. I feel like I’m looking at plastic, or wax, or anything but flesh.

I consider being labeled a ‘hater’ to be a badge of honor given that only liberal, p.c., lemmings seem to use that tired term.

“I think they make them wear the heavy makeup maybe because of the lighting.”

Bingo, exactly right. Otherwise they would look washed out. It’s the same with onstage makeup on Broadway and in any stage play. It’s a necessity in showbiz.

I did not care for the format nor the content of the show. It was more about pumping up the other shows on FNC and about her rather than about anything else.

Hannity had on the nut job Weiner last night. I refused to watch. Why does he continue to give nuts like Weiner and Sharpton credibility. I just think Weiner was nothing but a stupid choice. I wonder what his ratings were.

I wish Jenna Lee would get her own primetime show.

And Patti Ann Browne should get her own network. Called “PAB delivers the news every day and night from the Red Eye leg chair.”

I’d watch!

I think both her and O’Reilly are kind of middle-of-the-road politically. Which is all I ask for in a journalist. I want to hear both sides of an issue and make up my own mind. I don’t need to be spoon-fed my own beliefs back to me. If I’m going to watch news or commentary I want to hear what my opponents are saying too. And debate is more entertaining to watch than a one-sided commentary.

As for Megyn, I think she’s a great broadcast journalist. She’s smart, quick and good on camera. That being said, I think her new show could be produced better. There’s been a bit too much fluff on it so far and the guests have been kind of weak.

She skipped across the set on election night. I was already sick of her. That made it final.

I wish CNN would hire Greta and put her on opposite Kelly.

More people also tune in during “crisis” like the Washington sillyness.

Her ratings won’t last long once the novelty wears off.

I think Megyn is beautiful, smart and kind. I’m happy to see her in the timeslot that Hannity used to bore me so badly in. I think Megyn is doing a great job and I don’t see the liberal bent you all seem to. I see her as she is supposed to be -”Fair and Balanced”. She sets a good example and rarely shows her cleavage. She speaks of having a happy marriage and gorgeous kids. What’s liberal about that?

Greta is also great and is the least biased person on Fox that I can see. She has grown on me and I would follow her if she left. I like her choice of friends. Franklin Graham. Sarah Palin.

I think you guys are so unhappy with life that you are loving throwing stones at perfectly acceptable people.
Now if you want to throw them at John McCain, Harry Reid, President Stompy Foot, that’s different and I’m with you.

Not all Fox females opt to wear heavy makeup. Dana Perino looks lovely w/o the heavy makeup. There are a few lesser known women on Fox, whose names I can't remember, who don't wear heavy makeup. Looks like they have some choice in how they look.

Greta left CNN for FOX News. Very good move, she has a much larger audience now.

You are right about Dana she does have more of a natural look. It could also be the makeup team they may have as well as preference towards more makeup.
