S&P futures are now over 15 points off the day's highs, as it seems equity investors were hoping for a Cumbaya moment after the White House meeting today. However, as Bloomberg reports,

Reid said “It won’t happen”. This proves obama takes his marching orders from someone else. Reid is the messenger. I assume the republicans know this which means when they talk to obama all they do is ask “So, what did Reid say?”
The GOP should tell the world that they tried and obama won’t budge. Then just walk away. They should say they’ve got to get to the banks and withdraw all their money and buy gold. Gold is the only thing that will be of value when the democrats are finished.

I doubt this is a wrap as reported here....Boehner would have gone straight to the mike if it was a no go...the fact he didn’t talk to the media says he has to go back to the others with what he’s got.
We”ve been down that road many times....but it’s very clear the President is not leading....why would he...he’s pretty much handed the wand to Reid.
