The more I read about this, the more I think that we really dodged a bullet in the 2012 election.
Admittedly, it was dodging a bullet by jumping off a cliff...
Hopefully Alan Keyes will move to WI
Pelosi, good faith in negotiating?
Keep this up, GOP, then don’t blame me for not EVER voting for you.
So what they really, truly care about is protecting their cushy position in government ... which, as far as nationalized healthcare is concerned, conflicts directly with how someone (most notably, Ted Cruz) who really, truly cares about Americans, our constitutional republic and traditional American values thinks and acts.
They have said for days they would do a short-term budget deal, so I don’t see this as a big deal. Basically doing what they said they would.
But, Obama and the Dems refused to do that before. Now it appears he is caving some.
I am honestly surprised they held out this long.
Sort of ironic that they originally said the fight should be over the debt limit (wrt O-care) and not the CR, from the polls on both.
But now they want to completely cave on the debt limit but not the CR. from what I heard.
And they want to revive the grand bargain deficit reform idea and forget about Obama-care,
Who cares, they can't spend it if the House don't say so.
There can be no default because the Constitution requires the debt to be paid.
Ever wonder why there is a debt ceiling in the first place?
Of course there is the chance that Obozo will just ignore the Constitution and the law in which case the House then has a duty, which they will likely ignore, but they have one.
Facts sure mess up these little surrender dances don't they.
If you can honestly explain how you expect Obamacare to be repealed, I would like to hear it. They can shut the government down for a year. Obama will not cave on it.
And that’s even though the GOP isn’t even asking to defund it at all....all they are actually asking for is a delay in the individual mandate a year.
Well between you and me and the fencepost ( something Pappy would say so I wuold know it was really important) Bout the only “true conservatives” I would even think of voting for right now are Cruz, Lee, and possibly Rand Paul...but this is all open to future votes by these guys

“Huh? What do you think the Continuing Resolution is? It’s a BUDGET resolution.”
Our entire strategy is to force negotiations over the budget, now Paul Ryan is a traitor for seeking negotiations over the budget?
Are you an idiot? Are you going to have your chain yanked around with every word puffed out of DC?
The Sky is Falling! The Sky is Falling! The Sky is Falling!
Stupid F’n headline.
DC talks.
Just because they talk doesn’t mean that The Sky is Falling!
So now, everytime DC talks, you are going to scream that the GOP is “surrendering”?!
F’n moronic.
With #1) No government cheese (for programs) some will complain
2) The people support Ted Cruz and the Republicans (especially in light of the disastrous O’Care roll out, especially with continued premium spikes)
3) Most don't feel a shutdown so all they see is Obama and the Senate Dems being obstinate, so that puts pressure on them, not Republicans.
4) Let the shutdown continue the momentum is on our side and we will get a delay/defund!
Then he was a naive fool (including his coaching staff) for not anticipating or being able to handle Biden's smirks & guffawing & interruptions & bullying tactics. It's not like they hadn't seen the past 30 years of bluster & buffoonery from Biden and they were completely unprepared & naive to handle it.
Ryan looked like a deer frozen in the headlights, even the moderator would interrupt Ryan with no comeback from Ryan, and through it all Ryan just stood there frozen with a sick looking expression on his face. Perception is everything, points are nothing, when scoring a presidential or VP debate. And for this part, the GOP candidates usually are miserable in at least 2 out of 3 debates. Or in Ryan's case, he was miserable in 1 out of 1 debates.
If there are cameras anywhere near the conference, this is a grand surrender by the French republicans.
The best way would be to retake the Senate before forcing the question.
Well, we are a single party in effect.
My word, Paul Ryan SUCKS.
No thanks. I'll take the shutdown. Cruz is doing exactly what I wanted him to do when I elected him.
You don't wait until everything is perfect to push for what you want. You push until everything is perfect and then you close for the kill.
Makes ya nervous, don't it?
