'All about power and leverage' -- feds shut down major roadway, block access to graveyard (TN)
FoxNews.com ^ | October 7, 2013 | Todd Starnes

Folks who live in the Great Smoky Mountains have just about reached their breaking point with the federal government.

“It’s almost like they are pushing to see how far they can push before the American people say enough is enough,” said Ed Mitchell, the mayor of Blount County, Tenn. “We were founded on a declaration of independence. And they are about to push the people to the line again.”

Nearly a third of Blount County is inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. So when the federal government shut down the park, it also shut down one of the area’s chief sources of revenue.

The National Park Service also closed the Foothills Parkway, a major thoroughfare in the county. The closure came without warning and left the local school district scrambling to get children back to their homes.

(snip)

Even more insulting is the National Park Service won’t allow family members to visit old grave sites.

“Some of them have family members buried there,” the mayor said. “And they go and visit every week at the churches still in the cove. They are not able to do that.”

It’s gotten to the point where Mayor Mitchell said Americans are ready to start fighting back. “It’s almost like they are pushing to see how far they can push before the American people say enough is enough,” he said.

That’s what the WON wants—can you say Marshall Law?

No, but I can say "martial law."

By the way, "marshal" is spelled with one "l."

Be afraid, people, be very afraid.

No. I refuse to go through life afraid. Let the government fear. They can only kill me once.

Too many of us, not enough drones. Do the numbers. Or have you already assumed the position?

This is intended to provoke uprisings that can be crushed.

If the drones started attacking citizens of the USA I would be hunting drone operators.

Uprisings in unarmed nations are fairly easy to crush. In a heavily armed nation? Not so much.

I believe Romney defeated Zero by a 72-26 margin in Blount County. This is Jarrett’s ‘payback’...

—can you say Marshall Law?

I'll see his marshall law and raise him a second amendment. If all hell breaks loose, then 50-60 MILLION American gun owners will take to arms. I wouldn't want to be in support of any Democrat politician if that happens.

There's a TON more of us than there are of them.

The fact that they were able to shoot a BLACK woman down in cold blood without a peep from Sharpton or Jackson speaks VOLUMES...

We can’t cower in fear or America and our freedoms are already dead. Instead we need to stand up with mass civil disobediance. If Obama declares martial law and suspends the elections then we need to all rise up and ensure that his rule ends like Caucescues

“Conferate Mountain Honkys”

I think “Rebel Mountain Honkies” would be more appropriate as at the present time they aren’t confederated with anyone. The mountain people were mostly union I believe while their Middle Tennessee cousins were CSA.

"Think Orval Faubus in Little Rock."

"We need to provoke incidents like these ... show the world what kind of childish tantrum this embarrassing administration is indulging.

My heart agrees with you, but my mind remembers the end result of Faubus trying to block school integration as in the 101st Airborne enforcing the government's directive. If Ike used the military, do not think for a minute that the Regime would hesitate to do so.

The citizens of this country have a lot of guns, but they are not organized, and local uprisings will be crushed by overwhelming force — armored vehicles, machine guns, armed drones and helicopters.

Here you go:

“A single person shut down the entire U.S. government for the first time in 17 years.

Not a congressman, but an unelected woman named Sylvia Burwell”

Still not enough government goons. And Americans organize pretty quickly.

Our military might had problems with a few Taliban in Afghanistan. They will have more trouble here.
