Well the Mosque is there is it not?...and they Muslims are basically in control there....so as i see it why do anything that will antagonize them if you go for a visit.
Remember when Sharon went to the Temple Mount.....he knew full well it would initiate an uproar. And everyone knows the sensitivities about the Temple Mount.
Emotions run on overload concerning that area so anyone who goes there must be careful....you know well who you are dealing with and they ain’t saints there!
One whole side of the Dome of the Rock has the image of the star of david thoughout the tiles. Yeah - you have to tilt your head to see it but it is there.
As far as the Magaen David being a pagan symbol I believe it is symbolic of when the triune nature of God (Elohim - HaDavar - Ruach) aka (Father - Son/Word - Spirit) descends and meets the triune nature of man - (Soul - Body - Spirit) as they did in the fulfillment of the promises to the Jewish people.
