I have received word from the U.S. Marine Band (The President’s Own)that they’ve cancelled their whole Midwest Tour, due to Sequestration, and cancelled several local D.C. area concerts, due to the government shutdown.
My thought exactly when I saw the signs used in NYC, with the Statue of Liberty as background!
That would be news, since it's been on the ocean floor for the last 70 years.
Now the USS Arizona Memorial, that's another kettle of fish.
The signs and the Barry-cades all had to be pre-made, and pre-positioned for use.
That alone says the shutdown was a foregone conclusion (IOW, scripted).
This does not bode well for Obama. The USS Arizona Memorial is the closest thing America has to truly sacred ground. It is as serious or even more serious than the Vietnam Memorial.
For him to order these places closed for petty political reasons, because he is having a temper tantrum, will create generations of people that will despise him. And hopefully to despise his vindictive political party as well.
And I don't particularly care to be treated that way.
To my way of thinking, that is too big. I would shrink the federal government without mercy until Congress votes unanimously and the President signs an act to restore full control of the Pearl Harbor Memorial to the state of Hawaii.
Will Der Fuhrer Hussein have all the national war and veterans' monuments here and abroad still closed down if the shutdown is still going on?
I secretly hope the shutdown continues up-to-and-including that sacred day. I know, I'm baaaaad. But what a perfect day for a pushback of some kind all across the fruited plain!

Probably right after the election in 2008. Socialists plan FAR in advance.
As for opening the Arizona, there are lot's of dems in Hawaii. Dem business people must be ticked that the tourists are cranky so they pressured obama.
Interesting headline. The Arizona herself, not the memorial.
The Eretz Ziona (the land toward Zion)
Remember the number (of lives lost). It's 1177. It's one of those obscure mnemonics from the numeric value of the phrase in bold:
Dan 9. 2. In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, perceived in the books the number of years, which, according to the word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet, must pass before the end of the desolations of Jerusalem; seventy years:
(A reference to Jer 29.10)
Jerusalem (Zion) is an allegory for America.
Tears of the Arizona allusion:
Psalm 137.1
By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, we also wept, when we remembered Zion:
Oil leaking from the sunken battleship can still be seen rising from the wreckage to the surface of the water. This oil is sometimes referred to as "the tears of the Arizona"[9][10] or "black tears."[11]

From post 16:

Tears cry from the ground (or ship "of state" as it were).
Jer 31.9. Hear the word of the Lord, O you nations, and declare it in the islands far away, and say, He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, like a shepherd keeps his flock:
This stuff adds up over time. In these days, no detail is insignificant.
