It's a batting average that won't land the federal marketplace for Obamacare into the Healthcare Hall of Fame.
As few as 1 in 100 applications on the federal exchange contains enough information to enroll the applicant in a plan, several insurance industry sources told CNBC on Friday. Some of the problems involve how the exchange's software collects and verifies an applicant's data.
"It is extraordinary that these systems weren't ready," said Sumit Nijhawan, CEO of Infogix, which handles data integrity issues for major insurers including WellPoint and Cigna, as well as multiple Blue Cross Blue Shield affiliates.
Experts said that if Healthcare.gov's success rate doesn't improve within the next month or so, federal officials could face a situation in January in which relatively large numbers of people believe they have coverage starting that month, but whose enrollment applications are have not been processed.
"It could be public relations nightmare," said Nijhawan. Insurers have told his company that just "1 in 100" enrollment applicants being sent from the federal marketplace have provided sufficient, verified information.
Coincidentally, 99 out of 100 customers on the Healthcare.gov Facebook page are REALLY pissed.
Christopher CesarzAvoid the customer service line at all costs. They are disrespectful and unintelligible. I asked the lady some very simple questions, and she became offended because she did not have the answers. Furthermore, she hung up on me!
“Yes We Can!” ROTFL!!! Deal with it Obamanoids! You’re the ones you were “waiting for” and now you’re finding out that you’re a bunch of blithering idiots. Great job in 2008 and 2012.
Hit a brick wall? I believe that is called Physics. For the low information voter, that is another name for reality.
Be glad for this wretched start.
Betcha a large order of curly fries that ACORN and other low-information laden unions are in the service centers working papers and taking calls. Even better for the masses.
Joe ThielbarDon't sign up Joe! It's a TRAP!!!I'm still having the same problem. It tells me that my User Name/Password is not correct. So I request to reset my password and enter my Username. Then I get this message: "We sent an email to the email address associated with your account with instructions on how to reset your password."
And sure enough, I get the e-mail. But then when I click on the link included in the e-mail, I get this message: "We weren't able to process your request because we couldn't find a Marketplace profile that matched the information that you provided." ...That doesn't make any sense.
The system just sent an e-mail to the address that it has on file for me, but then it tells me there is no profile??? This is happening on me all the time!!! PLEASE FIX THIS SO I CAN LOG-IN AND GET STARTED!!!
God: You think you're Me, you handle it.
“It is extraordinary that these systems weren’t ready,”
What do they expect from a gov’t run program? No matter they had three years to get it ready.
Makes perfect sense.
Only God has enough grace to chuckle at Barack right now. Most of us would be raging or bitterly jeering.
And these are CEOs. I guess CEOs are overrated.
Nobody wanted to take responsibility
Clearly, we need a new government program to instruct people how to apply for a free program.
We are the 99%
Talk about IT snafus; well this program had God’s curse on it all the while. However there were still enough believers left in America that God consented to turn the curse back on Barack.
See? Say puede now? Morons!
“What do they expect from a govt run program? No matter they had three years to get it ready.”
At least 25-35%.
This is looking to be historically bad, even for government.
Layne D. HansenWhat a bunch of saps. You guys all buy into the promises of a man who has never done anything but debate the theory of how things should be and has never actually done anything in his life.
If you can't do, teach. If you can't teach, become a politician. If you can't become a politician, yell "Yes We Can!" really loud.
Lolzzzzzzz
I think just about everybody handling this thing secretly loathed it. It is under such a heavy curse that the proverbial lead balloon will fare better. I feel like praising the Lord right now for this moment of stark truth that is hitting. We do not need to fear truth.
Gee, who DIDN’T see this coming? Even the founder of McAfee said that the online enrollment sites were a hacker’s “wet dream”!
At the end of the day, this is just more proof of the old joke about “I’m from the government - I’m here to HELP you”!!
