House Democrats will use a parliamentary procedure to try to break a logjam over government funding and bring a clean continuing resolution to the floor, according to senior Democratic lawmakers and leadership aides.
Reps. George Miller (D-Calif.) and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) will attempt to hijack an existing Republican bill and file a discharge petition that ripens in just seven legislative days, instead of the normal 30 days.
Under the procedure that Miller and Van Hollen plan to use, they can begin gathering signatures on their discharge petition on Oct. 11, one week from today. If the Democratic pair were successful and can line up 218 supporters for their measure, then they can bring a clean funding resolution to the floor despite opposition to such a move from Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House GOP leaders.

But that would only occur if Miller and Van can get all 200 House Democrats - the easy part - while enticing another 18 Republicans to sign onto it.
Miller added: Our belief is that after numerous discussions with Republicans, there is a sufficient pool of Republicans who have expressed either publicly or privately, however, they want the government open.

Again, I ask that you read my tagline and get this FReepathon knocked out PDQ. Thank you.
Any democrat who broke ranks would be shot. It’s how the communists roll.
Pete King (RINO, NY), for one.
I’ll compile the list.
Fine, let the “wobblies” identify themselves.
Hmmmm. Can the CR returned from the Senate be amended before submission? That is what the Senate did.
It’s time to continue the full court press with possible wobbly Repubs.
Gwjack
Yup, typical liberal strategy.
They know their logic is a joke.
Along with their intellect.
So, the only solution in to make sure that weak minded bimbos and bimboys get into congress, and then cheat, cheat, cheat.
Won’t last much longer, libs. The last straw is coming, and then you will “live in interesting times”.
They may have many “wobblies,” but 18? That’s alot.
Next election year. The political ad would read.
Do you hate Obamacare? Did you find it massively bureaucratic, no doctors supporting it, and extremely expensive? Republicans in the House tried to rescue you from it. They fought for your rights and freedom and in spite of all of their efforts, the Democrats forced this on you. So and so from you district voted for it. Show that person how unhappy you are and vote them out.
If the Dems are winning the battle and the GOP is hurting themselves, why try this and let the GOP save face? Why not let them surrender under pressure?
I did call this a week ago as the trick Boehner was heading for to save republicans from the wrath of the true non parasite Americans. But there is some other factor that drops in that we need to watch. Extreme socialist and Black Caucus socialist in the House have vowed not to accept a CR with the amount of money that the republicans wanted which was $40 billion less than Demorats . When the Senate sent their CR back they approved the republican amount. My best estimate is that 50 Dems are sworn now to oppose the CR that is , as I predicted, heading for a vote in the house.. The CR will fail without those votes. Wouldn’t that be a hoot? SHUT HER DOWN.
I wish the Repubs could get a clue......
Which democrats are at risk in 2014 if they continue to support this health care mess?
A lot of them are from PA, NY, NJ. One suspects they might be RINOs who are still hoping for a Christie nomination.
One consequence of all of this is the RINOs are over as a national political force.
They will never get to 18.
If there is a loophole, a trick, a backdoor or an underhanded tactic you can bet the democrats will use it.
It’s what they do best.
If democrats have a choice of winning fairly or winning by cheating they will pick cheating every time.
Perhaps because they have slung all the mud they can and Boehner (AMAZINGLY) has not caved. Just heard Reid in a presser, and I declare, he seemed almost chastened. Less strident. Is it possible their internals are shifting on them?
I am talking about tone, not content and that is subjective.
I love your perspective!
It might seem suicidal but I would insist that the Pubs who break ranks leave the party. If we lose our majority so be it. We are in a fight for our lives. We will have a better opportunity to regain the House and Senate if the public knows the Pubs stand for liberty and an end to tyranny and are willing to fight for it.
