RUSH: Dr. Drew Pinsky was on Anderson Cooper 222 last night. Anderson Cooper said to Drew Pinsky, "I don't know all the details of what exactly is covered. It's an incredibly confusing thing. I spent all day reading about it." This is about Obamacare. Drew Pinsky talked about the people he treats and deals with and what they think about it.
PINSKY: There's a really another interesting layer to this that people aren't talking about. Today, I often spend a lot of my time finding resources for people who don't have insurance. So today I had three calls. I said, "Good news." (bangs table) "You can sign up for Obamacare today." Not interested. Not so interested in spending money. Just want care. To get people that have never done this before used to the idea that, not only they have access, they can get this coverage, they must do this --
COOPER: Because the people you're talking to feel that they can fall back on the social safety net --
PINSKY: The safety net.
COOPER: -- emergency rooms visits and whatever.
PINSKY: They're used to using the safety net, which is unfortunate. We've almost acculturated ourselves to this safety net.
RUSH: There's Drew Pinsky, Dr. Drew Pinsky, explaining that the people he deals with say, "What do you mean, pay for it? I'm not going to this website. What the hell? I'll just do the emergency room if I get sick. I'm not going to any website here. I'll just fall back on the social safety net. I'll be taken care of," and then he finished. He added this...
PINSKY: There's hubristic part of this to an which is the idea that people who are uninsured can go online. I can't get my healthy, educated young males to go online and sign up for any insurance. My uninsured, uneducated, perhaps stricken-resourced population to get on line? That's hubris to say, "Oh, just go online and sign up!"
RUSH: Most of his patients... He's saying that most of his patients don't know how to do this anyway. "What? You're asking me to go online and sign up for what? Medical care? Health insurance?" They're clueless. This is a guy on CNN, and he's admitting that the people he deals with and treats haven't the slightest idea of two things. They haven't slightest idea what's going on and when they find out, "Well, I'm not doing that. I'll just rely on the social safety net."
Big surprise, huh?

RUSH: So let me summarize what Dr. Drew Pinsky was saying in his appearance on CNN last night. He says nobody's gonna want free health care if they have to pay for it. (summary) "What do you mean, sign up on a website? I'm not gonna sign up on a website. Pay for it? I'll just use the social safety net, that's what I'll do." Now, I don't even think they use those terms. That's just his term for whatever they say to him, but it boils down to nobody's gonna wanna want free health care if they have to pay for it.
I think he's being polite. What Pinsky is saying is that Obama's constituents aren't gonna be able to figure out how to sign up online. If I translate that correctly, and I usually do understand these things, he's being polite. He's saying that Obama's constituents aren't gonna be able to figure it out.

From what I've heard over the past two days, even smart folks are having difficulty navigating the O-Care system.
Half of the Obama voters are dumb as a box of rocks. Of course, many Obama backers didn’t vote for him because they’re stupid to know how to (1) get to the polls and (2) pull the lever. They’re dumber than a box of rocks. The other half of Obama voters smart enough to make it the polls and vote for Obama are stooges who might be good in one area of living, but too naïve to know how the world works.
Many elderly still do not own or know how to operate a computer. My elderly parents had a computer, but only my mother knew how to use it to send e-mails. When she died, my father never bothered to learn how and to his death earlier this year never sat down at a computer. In fact, he didn’t know how to operate a micro-wave oven because she always did it for him. My older brother had to show him how to use one. And this was a man who could build a house virtually all by himself when younger and an expert carpenter.
IT’S NOT FREE! SOMEBODY (US TAXPAYER) PAYS OUT THE WAZOO FOR FREELOADERS!
The other day I heard Rush on the radio and he was saying even after the establishment of Obamacare, 20million of the populace will still be without health insurance.
I know what you mean. My mom asked my dad if she could get the same sites on their computer that I could get on mine and he told her “Of course you can! It’s the Internet!” The whole concept is just beyond folks of a certain age. ( My son and his cousins still crack up over that one).
Surprise, surprise, they will find they aren't getting much back after they doc them the fine for not having a health insurance policy! That's how the feds are getting the student loans paid back too!
Dr Drew? That TV rehab and sex doctor? He was being critical of Obama voters?
A few years back, I received a phone call from someone looking for some technical information for a project she was doing. I later discovered she was getting paid for this, as well.
I couldn’t answer her question precisely, due to a lot of variables, and she was unable to provide me enough information so that I could narrow it all down. I directed her to a comprehensive website on the subject, one I have used in the past. She snottily replied that she would have to go to the library to use a computer.
This is someone who owns land, rents out property, does various other labor. Someone who once described her dream job as being a Lifestyle Counselor and being paid to tell others how to live *sustainably*. She could afford a computer. She has access to the Internet at the library. But what she wanted was for someone to hold her hand, walk her through a process and, I suspect, actually do the work for her, preferably for free. It is pure laziness.
IMO, that 15% is mostly reactionary elderly and a few off-the-grid types. I know of households where one partner refuses to use the Internet or send an email, while the other is comfortable with both. I also know people who refuse to pay for a computer or Internet access, but have no problem asking someone else to let them use theirs. This process has been taught in the lower grades for over 10 years. There are affordable devices available.
The so-called Navigators are supposed to assist people with Internet sign-up. The Dems understand their base.
I live rural. There are houses within 4 miles of me that are not even on the grid.
Having a computer isn’t even a consideration. Knowing how to use it isn’t either.
From the beginning of Obamacare, the number of ‘uninsured Americans’ was said to be 30 million.
Now, we are being blasted with non-stop commercials & the number of ‘uninsured’ is suddenly 48 million.
Where did another 60% come from?
The only guess I have is Layoffs.
“The freeloaders better get hip to the Husseincare penalties REAL quick. “
No so fast, my friend. I believe the feds can add in a little deal that says “The only people who have to pay the penalty are people who care about their credit” because minorities and women will be hit hardest by the penalty.
Oh and illegals don’t have to pay the penalty.
People switched to part-time lost their insurance
