LIVE Thread: Senate cloture vote. Guess the number of RINOs that vote to support "Dingy" Harry

Senate just came into session. Happily, Dingy Harry is sparing us any commentary early on this morning, as is McConnell. Debate goes until 12:10, at which time there is 30 minutes reserved for majority and minority leaders , then the vote. Will there be any more GOP intramural fireworks on the senate floor?

The Rat senator from Colorado can use the obamacare money for Colorado. He’s up and begging for Federal funds now.

Ted Cruz has been accused of trying to politic off of obamacare, raise money, get an email list, run for President, etc.
Anyone can be accused of actually wanting obamacare so they can somehow play off of its reality to their advantage.
Again, they are cowards. Even if they know obamacare is killing America as we know it, all they have the guts to do is talk against it and take symbolic votes. They have proven they are terrified of “government shutdown” rhetoric. Those are the first words out of their mouths when opposing the Lee/Cruz plan.
If you have ever watched Rove rave on against those men, you have seen him look and sound like he is a terrified little child.
I’m just saying they are GUTLESS.
That does not prove they want obamacare and the destruction of America we know it brings.
That is your opinion. And you can have it, your choice.
Mine is different.
They have no stomach for this fight.
At the Alamo, they would have crossed Travis’s line and run away. They would have excused themselves by saying, but we can’t die here, because then we wouldn’t live to “fight another day” in the future...
I can hear them now.

Don’t let them lie to you...Corker SUPPORTS ObamaCare. The cloture vote is the one that counts. No snake oil for me, thank you.

Ron Johnson and Kelly Ayotte betrayed the people. They are just like Scott Brown and Saxby Chambliss. Traitors. And like Brown they will lose re-election.

As Pat and Stu pointed out.. maybe not even 19.
Some of the Republicans.. waited until they were sure it would not pass and then voted No.
If it had been closer we might not have had 19.

Ron Johnson and Kelly Ayotte betrayed the people. They are just like Scott Brown and Saxby Chambliss. Traitors. And like Brown they will lose re-election. Ayotte is a traitor and has been for awhile. Ron Johnson surprised the heck out of me with his vote today... unbelievable.
I strongly suspect also that - like Scott Brown - they will lose their next elections. Good riddance to 'em!

I think that's correct.
Some of the names were mighty suspicious, but it is what it is.
Several others could have pulled the same trick, but didn't have the guts!

My rule of thumb for years has been that all of the Democrats and half of the Republicans are bad. Today was in the ballpark of that, but with a slightly poorer showing for the pubbies than usual.

(The Must-see Filibuster of the Year: TEXAS TED AND THE CONSERVATIVE CRUZ-ADE)
Obamacare fine if you decide to go without insurance:
Going without health insurance will mean a fine: For individuals, the penalty would start at $95 a year, or up to one percent of income, whichever is greater, and rise to $695, or 2.5 percent of income, by 2016. For families the penalty would be $2,085 or 2.5 percent of household income, whichever is greater by 2016 and beyond.
So a family making $75,000 a year will pay a fine of $750 in 2012 for not having health insurance. That fine will be $1,875 by 2016. There will probably be quite a few families who decide to pay their medical costs out-of-pocket and only sign up for Obamacare if there is a major illness. In a way, this is introducing more free market efficiency because when families pay out of their own pockets, they shop around better for the best price.

Flake and Hatch are Cowards. How dare they not even vote and will probably still claim they are against Obamacare. I say they casted their vote to say yes. If they hated Obamacare they would have been voting No!
