Police have enlisted the help of a trapper to round up a group of feral hogs scaring residents of a subdivision in suburban Atlanta.
Some parents fear sending their children to a school bus stop in the Lithonia area, where up to four of the hogs are roaming the streets and eating trash in front yards.
Authorities hope the hogs can be trapped in cages by Wednesday morning, DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said.
Theyre causing quite a stir to say the least, Parish said shortly before noon Tuesday, as she headed out to the neighborhood, about 17 miles east of downtown Atlanta.
The police departments animal control officers were at the scene, but the plan was for a volunteer trapper to actually capture the animals.

While I'm not into "package hunting trips", I'd love to spend a couple days in either Texas or Oklahoma with an outfitter hunting feral hogs..........
How about gangstas in lowriders. They need the target practice more.
Shoot him Lisbeth, shoot him!!!
Choot’em, Choot’em!!!
Didn’t some of them mingle with Russian Boars that were imported in some areas during the old days?
Those of us that have been hunting and trapping hogs for a long time have an old saying, “Choot I’m In the face” If they ain’t looking at you then shoot them at the base of the ear. I could post pictures but it’s not pretty.
You can bet on it.
The good ole boys cleared out of Lithonia years ago and it has since gone to the dogs or hogs in this case.
Good catch...that’s what I have heard.
I don't see a problem. I see a pork roast.
I hear they multiply at a tremendous rate.
Toombs County, Georgia: dogs and knives. No need for high cap anything.
Catch ‘em. Tie ‘em. Fatten ‘em up and flush out that crap flavor. Grill ‘em.
.....AR?.... (a very friendly lol.....)
I've done in many a hog with .22LR hollow points (farm boy, hogs in corn). The local Amish thought it was a good idea to cut our fences and let their porkers "root, hog, or die" in our cornfields.
They came, they rooted, and they died.
.22lr through the ear opening works every time.
I’ve used both 44 mag and 22. Used a 22 for years, but one boar took 3 shots one time, so I decided to switch to the 44. They fold like a lawn chair with a single shot every time.
I wasn't that good a shot back in those days. Good, but not THAT good. But four or five lung shots always worked for me (semi-auto, no recoil). You could hear the return sound of the bullet making impact (sort of a "bang/whack").
