I've done in many a hog with .22LR hollow points (farm boy, hogs in corn). The local Amish thought it was a good idea to cut our fences and let their porkers "root, hog, or die" in our cornfields.
They came, they rooted, and they died.
.22lr through the ear opening works every time.
I’ve used both 44 mag and 22. Used a 22 for years, but one boar took 3 shots one time, so I decided to switch to the 44. They fold like a lawn chair with a single shot every time.
