Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, said conservative Republican attempts to defund Obamacare will prove fruitless.
"In the United States Senate, we will not repeal or defund Obamacare. We will not. And to think we can is not rational," McCain said Thursday on “The Lead with Jake Tapper.”

This is going to be very telling. McCain knows there aren’t enough votes in the senate to pass it so he can vote “yes” and it still not pass. So, will he vote with or against his party?

I do too. But I suspect he’s right this time. The party not in power can annoy the party in power, but not control the agenda or the outcomes. We must take the house and the senate with enough votes to override a veto. And that isn’t likely. So, we will have to wait until 2016 and hope we can hold both houses and take the presidency. Otherwise we are all surfs to our government for the rest of our lives.

If Obama and the Democrats shut down the government, then Obamacare won’t get funded along with the rest of it. Either sounds good to me but maybe I’m not rational according to McCain.
