Well, Bro, God was serious about infinite grace (at least enough grace to cover what would otherwise be an infinitely long doom in hell).

I suggest you be, too, if you think it is fitting to talk in such terms. Don’t diss the Lord.

Also, don’t get caught up in petty things. The bible condemns “quarrels about words.” Fruitful discourse occurs at a far higher level than the quibble. FAR higher. Even if those you disagree with quibble... don’t get dragged down to their level. You answer to God. You don’t answer to Satan!

HiTech RedNeck: "...God was serious about infinite grace..."

What is this? You're going to play a word game with me, and then scold me for losing?
In fact, the word "grace" has several meanings, among which is what I assumed you intended: "a controlled, polite, and pleasant way of behaving," which is what I was trying to be -- with "infinite patience".

Of course the Bible speaks frequently of G*d's grace, meaning: "unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification"
But nowhere does it speak of either "infinite grace" or even, amazingly, "amazing grace".

Those are "added-to" ideas which you may feel essential to your own faith, but if you scold me for using them in a non-religious sense, then you speak only for yourself, not the Bible.

HiTech RedNeck: "I suggest you be, too, if you think it is fitting to talk in such terms.

Don't be ridiculous, FRiend.

HiTech RedNeck: "Also, don’t get caught up in petty things.
The bible condemns “quarrels about words.”

"Quibbles about words" are easily resolved by a visit to the dictionary, etc., to learn just exactly what they mean.
In this particular case, we are talking about two different meanings of the word "grace" -- one religious, the other not.
I was using the non-religious sense, but you've picked a "quarrel over words" by scolding me from the religious definition of "grace".

HiTech RedNeck: "Even if those you disagree with quibble... don’t get dragged down to their level.
You answer to God. You don’t answer to Satan!"

Sorry, but I consider both you and YHAOS to be fellow FReepers and FRiends, not "Satan".
So I'll happily engage either of you so long as there seems to be even a remotest chance of reasonable conversation.

But I'm giving up on YHAOS... seems to be a lost cause...
