~Favorite Sweet Songs ~

Lou Reed - Sweet Jane

Standing on the corner
Suitcase is in my hand
Jack is in his corset, and Jane is in her vest
I'm in a rock 'n' roll band

Ridin' in a Stutz bear cat, Jim
Those were different times
The poets they studied rules of verse
And those ladies rolled their eyes

You know you sweet Jane
Oh now baby, sweet Jane
Oh yes sweet Jane

Now Jack, he is a banker
And Jane, baby she is a clerk
And both of them save their money honey
When they come home from work

Sittin' there by the fire
The radio does play the classical music there, kid
The march of the wooden soldiers
And you can, you can hear Jack say

You know he saying, "Sweet Jane
Ooh baby, sweet Jane
Ah yes sweet Jane"

Some people like to go out dancing
Whereas other people like us got to work
Gotta watch me now and there's even some evil mothers
They'll tell you life's just dirt

That the pretty women never really faint
That villains always blink their eyes
That children are the only ones who blush
And that life, life is just to die, but I want to tell you something

Anyone who has ever had a heart
Oh oh wouldn't turn around and break it half
Anyone who has ever played a part
They're not gonna turn around and hate it

You know they're singin', "Sweet Jane
Ah sweet Jane

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama

Big wheels keep on turning
Carry me home to see my kin
Singing songs about the Southland
I miss Alabamy once again
And I think it's a sin, yes

Well I heard mister Young sing about her
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around anyhow

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

In Birmingham they love the governor
Now we all did what we could do
Now Watergate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you?
Tell the truth

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Here I come Alabama

Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

Sweet home Alabama
Oh sweet home baby
Where the skies are so blue
And the governor's true
Sweet Home Alabama
Lordy
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Yea, yea

I think the solution is asking the Sidebar Moderator and Admin Moderator to PLEASE move this canteen thread to News/Activism and Extended.

Connie is the above correct?

Regardless...the Mods can fix it. Sweet talk them. LOL!

I’ll poke around when I get home.

I remember the lawsuit but I never associated any similarities perhaps as easily as others. I had Harrison’s song in a 45 from when it was first released.

I had Harrison’s song in a 45 from when it was first released.

I first heard it on an FM station on November 20, 1970. The DJ mistakenly announced the title as "Hare Krishna."

And then there was Ringo’s “No No Song.”
